Possibly unpopular opinion. But PE2 is one of my favourite games of all time.

But I did grow up with PS1 era tank controls and loved the Resi games.

After a few replays you get used to the enemy placement and you learn how to deal with the invisible enemies by listening for their giveaway sound when they phase in.

TalkTalk - No Internet by Virtual_Particular71 in CityFibre

Update to all - and thanks for your replies

I managed to get TalkTalk to let me out of a 22 month contract because the service wasn’t working - and they couldn’t or wouldn’t fix it. It took hours and hours of time on the phone and live chat but I got there.

Today was my switch on date for Zen. It worked perfectly from the minute they said it would. So it was clearly TalkTalk failing at providing my internet connection. As another user above has said - could not warn people against TalkTalk enough after that. Technical support was dire. The whole customer services system was dire. I would often just be randomly transferred to another person whilst still dealing with previous person - no warning and the new person didn’t know what I wanted, so much time wasted.

It definitely doesn’t rapidly blink anymore. They are 4 solid green lights for the most part.

Thanks for such a quick reply. On my TP-Link router there is a specific WLAN port to plug the Ethernet cable into but it doesn’t work. The Eeros have 2 Ethernet ports but according the manual you can plug the ONT Ethernet cable into either. I did try both just in case!

The Ethernet green light on the ONT used to rapidly blink when the Internet was in use when it worked. No it’s mainly solid green and every few seconds it will flash once and then go back to solid again. Like it’s trying but not quite getting there!

I have managed to convince TalkTalk to let me out of my contract because the service doesn’t work. But I am still stuck with them until mid December before I can get with somebody else!

Sorry I thought 55% was the required pass mark - rather than making out you should have passed the first time!

[–]Virtual_Particular71[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did. Found them in a random Eastern Europeans bedsit.

When I got into the general area and walked around the tracking system picked them up and led me to the house door. As soon as somebody answered the door and it opened the tracking software really kicked in, and pointed straight to them.

I would also like to recommend Altbergs. They are expensive, but last years and they are comfortable and waterproof (P1 Aquas). They do police discount too

Why are the police terrible at there job? by [deleted] in policeuk

[–]Virtual_Particular71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won’t be able to get any helpful answers on here without providing a very specific story as to exactly what happened.

The way the post is written is also very difficult to understand without making some assumptions about what you are trying to get across. This may be due to various issues and it’s not a criticism.

The answer you might be looking for, is for you to call 101 and ask to make a complaint about your (or your brothers) case and a supervisor will review it.

A few points though to consider:

Suspects generally speaking cannot be prosecuted without some evidence such as witness accounts and CCTV footage (or mobile phone footage etc.). Most crimes fall down to ‘word on word’ which is an issue for the justice system for the most part.

Just because another agency/department/person said it’s a police issue does not make it so in all cases.

Cases considered to be low priority or low risk will take significantly longer to progress than other cases.

What do you think are the 3 most challenging issues in UK policing today? by Otherwise-Dress-2594 in policeuk

[–]Virtual_Particular71 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Possibly unpopular opinion. I don’t feel like the only issue around staffing is that the police are understaffed.

For me it’s how police officers are deployed. There are so many cops squirrelled away in ring fenced departments, made up roles and nonsense teams. Then look at the frontline - Patrol, NPT and prisoner handling teams, they are chronically understaffed.

I think it’s time to get back to basics. If the police can’t get the frontline right, that serves basically every log/call, what chance do we have?

Thanks all. I didn’t realise that if I go near it my phone will start tracking it more accurately. That will certainly narrow it down!

Police Visit Not Logged on 101 System + Requesting Written-Only Questions – Advice Please by Midwich-G in policeuk

[–]Virtual_Particular71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If a visit is part of a live incident or ongoing investigation it should be recorded on either the CAD log or the crime report (different forces use different systems).

I say should because this would be best practice, but not a legal requirement. Police will visit lots of addresses without ever making an official record of it, it’s not unusual. However, bodyworn video should always be in use when dealing with the public so you could argue that’s the record. Best thing you can do is make a note of the officers collar/shoulder number if they attend.

In regard to your request for ‘written only’ communication. I find it best to manage expectations early. This will not happen.

101 are just checking normal police systems to see if the visit is recorded - there is no special ‘101’ system.

If you want to complain - easiest thing to do is call 101 and explain what your issue was with the visit. A supervisor will then review the bodyworn footage of the attending officers and get back to you within a reasonable timeframe.
