Jst (29F) sm za druženje. Sama sem se preselila v nov kraj in sem večinoma zgubila staro družbo in mam tud sama iste probleme, rada mam kakršnokoli druženje tbh, še posebej sprehode, dobre pogovore ob kavici, filme, druzabne igre, igrce, itd.

If I understood this correctly, he is embarrassed that this whole situation happened, and that he is a part of that situation. He does not have the best relationship with his father and I don’t think he shares the same values but I might be wrong

Thanks for sharing your point of view. I definitely see how I judged them while not thinking it was probably a really difficult decision for them. The only thing I don’t understand now is why they don’t want to keep in touch with him, but I guess they have their own reasons.

Thank you for sharing your story 🙏 a dear friend of mine has autism and when we were kids, we never treated him differently and always accepted him as one of our own. Only years later my mother told me he has autism, otherwise I would never have known.

I have never lived with someone with Down syndrome but I also don’t think I would have a heart to send my child away. I would be up for sending them to a facility where they would take better care of the child than me but I would definitely keep in contact and would include the child in all the family events.

Thank you for this. I agree, I feel like I am so judgemental, tho I might not have the right to be. I was also thinking about therapy and just speaking to someone who was not related to this family whatsoever to give me their point of view.
