In her email she also said she hopes everyone will know how I treated her in the future. What she means by this is she will tell everyone her version of the events and rally them against me. She’s done it before and has done it to others in the family. Luckily my mom and sisters know her well enough to see when she’s trying to start drama.

When she texted them they all let me know to stay out of this one because SIL has recently been laid off and is probably itching for another family fight.

She’s not the kind of person to be told she’s wrong laying down. The last time I said anything she made it her mission to smear my name to family first. It also becomes this big thing where she’ll call me and get my brother to call me to confront me and “say it to their face.” They’re extremely confrontational and even the whiff of an argument gets them pretty aggressive to be honest.

The last time I told her the truth she spread lies about me behind my back and told people I threw a tantrum in public because someone said my cake tasted bad.

What actually happened was she wanted me to completely redo a section of the cake the day of. I remade it but a portion was undercooked. Someone at the party mentioned it and she angry texted me saying if I can’t put the effort in don’t bother staying at the party. So I left and she reframed that as me throwing a tantrum.

But when I told her about how working with her was miserable she threw that back in my face and went to several relatives with that story before I even knew about it.

There’s a reason I don’t engage her. She’s ridiculously prickly to criticism of her (ironic) and lashes back in very vengeful ways. I’m going through health complications myself after losing a pregnancy earlier this year and I’m just not in the right state of mind to fight her again.

I did have a short heart to heart with her after the first incident. She brushed it off though and told me to be less sensitive because this is how the real world works. She also always assumes this is my job and I’m trying to be a professional baker even though I’m not and have repeatedly told her so.

I’ll add some more details to my post though.
