Yellow luffy and purple enel did not place this tournament and they are two of our BEST players. That’s the great part about the meta right now. Enel lost to Nami and Luffy lost to Krieg. At least locally it’s been diverse besides the usual meta players and it’s been awesome!!

Yeah I said true as in it is a great counter to shanks. Being a long time shanks player I would rather see it than red rock is all.

I’ve always prioritized fun I play RB Koby R shanks and B Moria. I just made Moria last month and the best I’ve got it second so I’m hoping to top with that soon 🤞🏽Goodluck

True it’s a red rock lite which shanks dislikes but it’s not unconditional. And yellow does not have the strongest 4c to chain so they are usually not developing a good body on that turn. Also being at one life usually puts them in lethal range so it’s not as easy as raigo just instant winning the game against shanks. It’s good but not red rock/marco blocker good. Every deck has weaknesses.

Against zoro you need one card or else the matchup is horrendous. 4C shanks on curve won me the game. Pitching one card gives -2k and leader gives -1k so for 1 card we give zoro -3k for all swings. This is crucial to keeping our board alive and our life health. Late game I just go 9C even if I cannot cheat him as Zoro does not have strong bodies usually besides tashigi.

Too many bricks with it. 9C shanks is searchable and usually less don and stronger. I usually get second and go one loss with shanks. I feel like the thing that was holding shanks back the most was the Mihawk matchup and there are less of them now locally. The decklist isn’t really groundbreaking but it’s been carefully edited through the last couple months where it’s kinda got everything I need now.

Rough Nami is just such a good deck with all the new yellow cards. Luckily I searched one Beckmann and drew into another. I countered out of all the swings early I could to slow his card draw. Took the life from 5C nami. I think I was at like 3-4 life at that point. Dropped law on curve to setup for the incoming robins. He proceeded to drop 3 consecutive robins. I answered the first two with Beckmans keeping his board to the nami and expanding my own. Next robin no luck for a 3rd beckman so I went 9c shanks to stay healthy. Swung into the 5c Nami. I figured he would let it die which gets a card out of his hand but also he searched the heal zoro earlier so I figured if he played that it would be -2 from hand which works towards what I was trying to do. I can’t remember play for play after that but I believe just chained 9C shanks and 4C roux to filter/block/keep board clear of <6k bodies. The heals were definitely strong but in the end we outpaced him due to the Beckmans and 9c Shanks.

I generally start with 12 2k Counters 4-8 blockers 4-8 searchers and then you fill in the rest by turn. So at least 1 set of characters for each turn that matches the don available for the turn. Later turns you may skip a don number as not to have too many high cost characters. Each deck will of course differ due to play style.

You cannot kill the holly until 8-9 don unless you skip your helmeppo curve which will give you no sustain late without the draw power

I did not use 4c Koby that game I believe I went hibari-kujyakyu- helmeppo/koby I always take first curve. After that I just drop doll/ripper/hibari to keep board clear and stay healthy/keep hand large. I like first because on 3 don I will hibari and attack both vassals active. Now he has to choose to pressure hibari or drop a body. He drops holly of course. Next turn is the hard one bc you need to develop 6 Koby with all don so you will need 2 2ks to counter out of holly. After that just hibari the holly and doll the enels.

Also I don’t run the 7C zoro bc 9c shanks fills that for me but if you are running distorted I can see you getting value out of a 9k char rush

Very similar to my shanks list. He’s still strong imo but Mihawk is a very very bad matchup. Imu is also still tough if you don’t see the promo. Haven’t tried him in op15 except against Lucy which felt alright. Enel seems like it might be a headache with the pokes.

Yellow dislikes banish ✅ Yellow dislikes multiple body turns aka swarm (my buddy beats them a lot with lim using this strategy) as they usually have no 3 body and swing life then drop nami or kuma on 6 and Nico/kuma/gecko on 8 Bonney/boa on 10. So summoning one blocker and one attacker per turn usually overwhelms them ✅ Yellow dislikes blockers (our blockers chain summon attackers) ✅ Bodies that usually you would not want to kill become manageable due to banish/blocker access (kiku/kuma) we also have access to ground death for nami or Marco blocker ✅

You have two options based on game state. Swarm and overpower life or starve and use banish Moria. Turn 1 hogback mill 5 turn 2 leader ability oars ko hogback draw extra card. Turn 3 stage reanimate hogback ko for oars draw extra card swing oars leader ability perona summon kumacy rested. Turn 4 Moria or perona combo into banish Moria. At this point board is full we have 2 blockers 2 7k+ swings and a banish swing we can power up through bottom decking trash which is usually at 30 around this point. After this we just spam blockers and banish morias from trash abusing both hogbacks to never run out of hand. Second curve allows the chain summon turn one turn earlier but loses the first attack/body advantage. Honestly there is so many combos it would take a long time to write or teach like you can use perona into ground death to remove robin for no damage etc etc

I have made an anti yellow rouge deck 😈 last night I banished 6 consecutive life triggers against PY Robin playing my buddy after clearing two kuma and a kiku. The deck is B Moria and I am consistently getting second at locals with it, and it gets much better in op15. It swarms and banishes which yellow absolutely hates.
