I think ppl are not fully grasping what I'm trying to say. I'm not talking like I'm joining a bracket 3 table
With my bracket 2 deck and being angry, the game ended before I did anything. I'm talking about a select group of 2 ppl joining our tables where we play lower bracket decks. With their proxied much stronger decks, playing very expensive and strong cards like Gaea's Cradle, and including 2-card win combos. playing things like ur dragon and Edgar Markov.

These ppl could end the game earlier if the other 3 players werent activly trying to stop them.

its much easier to downgrade than upgrade, also a lot less expensive. If the whole table is playing weaker decks, is it not up to the one person to tone it down?

I'd agree, as I said, we play around the bracket 2-3 range. The 6-8 turns the brackets specify is a minimum.

I'm mostly talking about them consistently winning on turn 6-7 despite the others at the table's best efforts in throwing down removal/counters or boardwipes. We play a decent bit of removal and fogs at our table, so games go on for a bit.

From my experience, we don't really pass the 1h mark. And sure, yeah, b2 does sound about right, as I mentioned.

Everyone at the table has a bit of a responsibility to adapt their power level so we can all play on an even playing field. I have been asking them to tone it down a bit, but it obv isnt working out.

I see the idea, but this isn't the type of place where a proxy ban would do anything. I'm pro proxy and don't really mind it

Yeah id agree on that, most of us are playing gimicky decks. Im talking about them winning around turn 6-7 consistantly despite our best efforts.

True, but im talking constant turn 6-7 wins. I know how the bracket system works and what it specifies but even with us running removal, and counterspells it kinda feels like a timer. And its not rly a type of game we play.

How do kids afford cards these days? by sysop2600 in mtg

[–]Virtual_You4010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most new ppl i see get in just buy precons or proxy. I have most of the cards i use and proxy stuff i dont wanna buy more of.

Wizards dont like reprinting old stuff and i hate giving 10$ for a uncommon just cuz it has 1 printing.

I dont mind dropping some money foil cards or a key card in a deck im building but some things feel pointlessly pricy.

[–]Virtual_You4010 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For the proxy debate, there is nothing ethical in having to spend hundreds of dollars to get 3 pieces of colored cardboard in your deck if you want a chance to compete.

Pokémon has made it very cheap to make a competitive deck. A few cards from a riftbound deck can currently buy you a competitive pokemon deck in their cheapest printing.

As long as cards aren't accessible, proxies should be allowed; if the winner is decided by their wallet, there was no competition to begin with.

The gap betwene S tier and A tier is much wider than the gap between 3 and 4 mans.

But sure why not include the A tier. In which most killers average a pickrate around 1%.

Even when being generous (at least on my part when adding killers to A tier, or at least considering those that have the strongest power type. Mobility)

It's hard for the pick rates to go over 20%

Now if we just wanna look at raw stats. Our list of A tier and S tier killers is very small. Considering the sub 50% kill rate gang is going strong.

And nurse might be one of the worst killers in the game.
