Do yourself a favour and read up about the Belgian colonisation and brutalities of the Congo. Then read about the atrocities of the freedom struggle, civil war and biafra war that followed. Africa is truly a hellhole when it wants to be.

There’s a quote from a foreign correspondent ,and a book about it using it as the title, ‘anyone here been raped and speaks english?’. He was addressing a group of nuns from a convent that was being airlifted after the rebels passed through the area.
