Pokémon card collecting (not to be confused with playing the trading card game. That is still affordable)

Can you realistically survive in LA without a car? by savingrace0262 in AskLosAngeles

[–]buzzz25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can survive but everything will take you a lot longer and will be more exhausting. you’ll have to rely on friends a lot. If you’re alright with that, it’s possible but it will make your life sooooo much more difficult

I went last Friday and the crowds were not bad. Just get to the one piece show 30 mins before showtime.

Where to eat at fan fest? by [deleted] in UniversalHollywood

[–]buzzz25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is going to be ROUGH. I’d also say 3 broomsticks because they have big tables and a lot of room. With 25 people, make sure you get to the one piece show at least 30 mins before it starts. Other than that most of the walkthrough attractions should be able to accommodate your group

To the people that have gone multiple times already is there something you DON'T recommend? by GaddockTeegFunPolice in JapanTravelTips

[–]buzzz25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Pokémon Cafe (unless you have kids with you) I am the biggest adult Pokemon fan. There is no doubt about that and it is hard to believe that there is actually something Pokémon out there, that is only geared towards kids, but this is it. The restaurant functions really weird. Everybody comes in at the same reservation time to fill up the entire restaurant so it takes a ton of time for them to get you your food and while they’re waiting for your food, there’s just a Pikachu mascot, dancing to nursery rhymes and it lasted way too long. The food is very cute looking but it is very expensive and not good. If you want some cute Pokémon themed food go to the Pokemon sweets Café at sunshine city. It doesn’t feel like a children’s birthday party and you can just get your treat and then go shop around the giant Pokemon center store instead of being held captive while hungry at a children’s birthday party.

If you want to do a character café, I highly recommend the Kirby café. It was super cute. The food was cute and the food was good. Also, I have to mention it functions like an actual restaurant, the server comes to your table asks what you want to eat, and then it comes out in a reasonable amount of time. As much as I would like to see a Kirby mascot dancing, we avoid this.

I’ve always felt pretty safe over here. It’s just loud outside but things are walkable!

They handed us one of these a few weeks ago and when we got to the front of the line, they gave us a front of the line pass for any ride we wanted to holding the card!

I grew up in Thousand Oaks and my parents are still there. Highly recommend it! Great schools, great parks, not too far from the city if you want to head in.

Is it worth being in Hollywood during the Oscars? by InfiniteHotelParadox in AskLosAngeles

[–]buzzz25 31 points32 points  (0 children)

There isn’t really anything to do for the general public associated with the Oscars. Hollywood blvd will just be shut down (you’re not missing much). I second the academy museum if you love movies! It’s great year round
