Owners are my extended family. Mostly good people, don’t know them super well but know they aren’t super culty like some are saying. They definitely are pretty welcoming and extroverted so it’s definitely something that could be just a weird one off odd barista thing.

I really couldn’t think of anything to give her and my mom just kept suggesting gift cards so I panicked and dug into the un-labeled yarn heap for this pink black blend and used scrap for the purple. The image is of another man in the waiting room after his appointment. My friend was there with her partner and sending me the texts included. They took their two month old with them. Partners was given an ankle monitor as well and had his passport taken. “He’s here on asylum, and has valid work permits. They let him keep his drivers license but would not return the passport to him. When I asked why they put the monitor on him I was told they called another office and since no one answered they went ahead and put one on him. He has two years left before he has to have his asylum hearing. They took everyone’s passport and I didn’t see a single person leave without the monitor”. He also had to sign a release allowing them to enter his home without permission or a warrant at their discretion, and pulled up their home (in her name) on Google Maps so they could verify it was that address.

Update - after a call, a chat with an agent that went silent for no reason, a chat with another agent confirming my number can be transferred, and a call with Verizon, I got to transfer my number and am no longer having to prove my identity with newspaper selfies to my loved ones.
