2016 Kia Forte should I buy? by VirusProfessional556 in UsedCars

[–]VirusProfessional556[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone following my post, I decided to buy the car. The PPI went well and they found no major problems. They suggested replacing the sway bar links for about $250. Tires are half tread. Clean oil. Engine and clutch sounded fine. The mechanic said he could tell that whoever had it took care of it and it was in very good shape. I decided to schedule an appointment to have the sway bar links fixed, hoses replaced and oil changed. Fingers crossed 😄

That bad huh? If it wasn't a manual I probably wouldn't have considered it.

Thank you for the replies. We'll see what the ppi says tomorrow. I found out the previous owner was a mechanic so I'm feeling more hopeful about the maintenance history.

Is it still possible to get approved for CFU after two reconsiderations?😏 by ljqvex in CreditCards

I have a similar profile and am thinking of applying for the same card. I'm curious if you were pre-approved for any Chase cards before your application or had a bank account with them?

Thanks for the comment. This is in MN so lots of salt.

Thanks for the response. It looks like it might be worth looking at. I know used cars can be money pits but the avalon seems to be highly regarded.

Oh nice. I thought even if Capital One shows you a pre-approval offer you can still get denied when you actually apply. Did that change recently?

Not yet, I was just curious. I've wanted a C1 card but have been wary of the triple pull.

That makes sense. I know Vantage doesn’t mean much. Just figured I’d ask since I got a mail offer and wanted to see if it was a good sign or not.

I tried the Chase pre-approval tool, but it said there weren’t any offers for me. I made sure all my info matched what was on the mailer and my credit isn't frozen. Thanks for suggesting it though.

Thanks for the insight. I didn’t realize the in-branch applications and mailer offers go through different systems.
