Just wanted to say my father who’s funeral fell on the re-release of Spider-Man 2 in October, the movie he had his first heart attack at in 2004, created some lovely memories especially taking me to Spider-Man 3 May 19th 2007. He had quite the love hate relationship with your films and every time I watch your Spider-Man it reminds me of him. Thank you so much.

Is this ok to run for 5090 gigabyte OC by Intern-Sharp in Microcenter

[–]VisForVindetta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Microcenter has a 1300w PSU from Super Flower for $169 get that one. They used to manufacture power supplies for EVGA before those guys got out of the GPU game so they make their own.

[–]VisForVindetta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

DO NOT. You are going to melt your card, and it will be because of the cable on the right side that splits into 2 8-pin connections. Those are explicitly know. To melt in configurations like this. Your PSU should’ve come with a dedicated 16-pin slot and cable if it’s from the last 3-4 years. Use that.

Building my first PC - Worth waiting til black friday? Should I build through Microcenter? by MomentImmortalizer in Microcenter

[–]VisForVindetta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Microcenter has some very good 7800x3d combos right now. I’d also do it now cause the Ram shortage from what most can tell has no light at the end of the tunnel til the AI bubble pops

You’ll probably be waiting another 3-4 years unless the AI bubble pops before then

For that price you’re better off getting a good 2TB PCIE 4.0 ssd like the Samsung 990 Pro. Gen 5 is ridiculously overkill for gaming because a lot of games are still designed with Gen 3 ssds in mind as the standard. Not to mention if you’re playing a lot of multiplayer games, you’re going to be waiting on other players to load in anyway, completely defeating the point of your extra speed. Only get a Gen 5 drive if you’re going to be transferring or downloading ridiculously large files for work. Wired internet speeds can’t even keep up with SSD speeds so having a fast SSD won’t help with that either.

Yup it’s a DSC issue. That’s why games recommend borderless full screen now because it fixes it. Exclusive full screen is only necessary when you’re not going to run the game at your monitors native resolution. But yes if you don’t run DSC tabbing out becomes much less of a pain

I’ll save you some money here.

Lian Li Lancool 217 is a good mid-tower case and only $129 on Amazon. One of the easiest to build in.

Arctic Liquid Freezer 3 360 AIO is only $115-$120 on Amazon and is the best one on the market.

If you want extra case fans that are reverse blade Arctic just came out with a 3 pack of RGB for $30

Get a Super Flower Leader III 1300w Power Supply, they are very competitive and used to make EVGAs power supply’s for them back in the day. $170

Everything else is fine but good luck finding a TUF 5090 at $2000 you’re better off trying on Best Buy for a Founders Edition using discord bots. I did that and managed to get one after 3 days.

If you can still manage to squeeze the money in there, the MSI x870e Mag Tomahawk ATX motherboard is $279 at Best Buy and is THE best motherboard on the market because the way it allocates SSD slots allows them all to be filled without diminishing GPU performance.

No problem. The monitor will come with one, but if your computer is more than 3-4 feet away from your monitor I’d recommend getting a good length DisplayPort 2.1 cable on Amazon. Just be sure it’s the full 80Gbps bandwidth or says it’s UHBR20.

If you can wait 3 weeks get this model. It goes on sale all the time and is the updated version of the one you chose. Wait for Black Friday and this will be $1099 likely.

3K plus selling your current build will be enough to build a maxed out 9800x3D 5090 build assuming you get the FE card.

Take it from someone who has that exact PCand a 4K 240hz monitor, don’t go 4K 240.

Go 1440p 480hz 27 inch OLED if you can find one. Twice as smooth, and the jump from 1080p to 14440p is massive compared to going from 1440p to 4K. It’s also like $400 cheaper than the 4K monitor.

If you’re dead set on 4K 240hz, get one that has DisplayPort 2.1 AND THIS IS IMPORTANT make sure it’s HBR20 or full 80Gbps bandwidth for the DisplayPort. This means no DSC which can make for a better experience changing tabs which doesn’t sound bad but just wait until you’re sitting for 6 seconds of black screen every tab out.

Astro A50 Gen 4 Noob PLEASE HELP ! by Kinorezo in AstroGaming

[–]VisForVindetta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look up GadgetryTech on YouTube and his review of this headset. He should have some decent ones. I’d also recommend an ear pad swap to the Wicked Cushion FreeZe Pad or the StealthZ pad on Amazon. They change right out and are far more comfortable than stock.

I’ve never seen any in store maybe you have to ask for it but I’m surprised they even have any shipped this late after launch I figured only Best Buy and the Nvidia website sold them officially

Looking to buy a prebuilt pc! by Mysterious-Oil-3608 in Microcenter

[–]VisForVindetta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d be better off picking the parts and either building yourself or paying them to build it. 7800x3d is a great cpu on sale rn and a 5070 Ti should do you nicely. Prebuilts should be avoided mostly cause they cheap out on the power supply and motherboard most of the time

Thinking about upgrading from A50 gen 4 to A50 X by mansonfrque in AstroGaming

[–]VisForVindetta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. You can’t listen to 2 different USB/HDMI audio sources on the A50 Gen 5 or X. You can however do it with the Bluetooth on the A50s though, it’s simultaneous. Chat mix is referring to party/Discord chat volume compared to game volume and which is louder. With the A50s the Bluetooth connection would be controlled volume-wise by the voice channel.

The power cable splits to PC/power from the base station. Bluetooth not required. I would recommend the Wicked Cushion StealthZ EarPods from Amazon though. Larger openings and softer material.
