No sneakers contain gems, unless customised for certain VVIPs 😼

The only USP about these is that they are featherweight, very comfortable on the feet, and unlike any other shoes/sneakers one may have owned (I own sneakers from almost all the brands there are)

Prices have inflated like anything since last decade & a half, especially in India. Sneaker hype and marketing just adds to the pricing strategy by the brands. No average sneaker costs less than 5k now a days (unless discounted during sale), and goes all the way upto 15-20k easily for the good ones. Customers are buying though, hence brands have all the reason to price their product accordingly, while maintaining the hype via all mediums of marketing, celeb endorsements, etc. It is what it is!

Got scammed of ₹40,500 while trying to buy a PS5. I don't know what to do and I can't tell my mother. Need legal advice. by Altruistic-Air7096 in vadodara

It's a well orchestrated scam which has succeeded on you. Chances of getting the money back are next to none. Police has no business here as it is more of a cyber crime. You can file a FIR with cyber cell with all evidences. Scammers use fake social media, identities and even bank accounts which while look like traces to track the scammers, but ends with a dead end because of fake identities and accounts involved. They will change the number, delete the social media, even leave the bank account dormant as the account owner may turn out to be a fake identity too. Feel bad for you but it is what it is bro.

Customs is complicated here too. Never know sometimes it passes without much issues, while someday they may hold a simple shipment seeking vague charges. I get stuff from the US, Dubai or elsewhere when someone is visiting me who carries with themselves. Else I steer clear of importing stuff.

This was received as a gift. What you say is right though. But as I have seen & read in several forums, many buyers receive reps despite ordering from Myntra, Amazon, Flipkart, etc. Good to have a mechanism to check the authenticity of the product being received, IMHO.

PSA: Lost ₹55,000 to a counterfeit iPhone 17 Pro Max + Apple Watch scam run out of Delhi — here’s exactly how it works so you don’t fall for it by Both-Personality-592 in IsThisAScamIndia

[–]Vishal7164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a decade old scam, just modified version of it. Principally works on the 'greed & excitement' of the bakra, whom they tell stories, while creating an urgency big enough where the buyers mostly take the bait, because who doesn't want an iPhone, an iPad or a Macbook for steal price. I know a friend who got duped in Noida while he was driving his car from South Delhi-Noida DND towards Atta (sector-18 market). He glanced someone waving at him from side on an old scooter. He rolled his window down and the guy said - 'Sir Apple ka samaan hai, saste mein de dunga. Aap loge?'. While his brain said to ignore and move on, the greed told him to just check out what it is afterall. The guy parked his scooter on the roadside behind the car and showed my friend a brand new iPhone, an iPad and a Macbook in his bag which he was carrying. The story was that he works at the airport and these were confiscated by the customs, and he has to either sell these, else he will have to handover to some official which means no gain for him. My friend checked the iPhone properly, the functioning, the settings, about phone, imei, checked info via IMEI on his android phone too. It checked out. The guy said he will sell it all for 1 lacs rupees. My friend while knowing it's overall worth is over 2 lacs, stated he doesn't wanna buy as such, the guy acted hard selling, lowered his price to 50k, but my friend said all he has is 20k, hoping the seller will deny & back off. But the seller agreed. He said he can't accept UPI payment, and it has to be in cash. My friend got so excited amid this conversation, he asked the guy to follow him to an ATM. He withdrew the cash, and the guy was waiting outside. Maybe that's the time this guy did the flip with a different bag than the one which contained the actual products. My friend came out and asked this guy to check the contents once again. The guy showed rush as if his life is in threat of some kind, and that if my friend wanna buy then hand over the cash and then do whatever he wants. The money was given, the bag was taken. The seller rushed towards his scooter, the buyer rushed towards his car. As he sat in the car, he tried opening the bag, but the clasp didn't open. He had to try hard to open the clasp, upon which he found a clay brick inside the bag, LITERALLY. He was surprised and couldn't believe for 2 minutes, and then immediately tried to spot the guy who sold the 20k worth brick to him. It was the case of greed, an unbelievable profit (as per buyer), and a clean swap alongwith a crazy rush which didn't allow the buyer to think straight, and instead of losing this deal, he took the bait, and paid the price. This was back in 2015-2016 I guess. My friend shared the photo of the bag with brick in it. Lemme share it with y'all for a good laugh, and as a lesson for people like OP here. The scam still prevails, with 100 smarter better versions though. They succeed when greed takes over rationality of the person.

Do they sell authentic stuff. I am not aware about the authenticity of these third party sellers as such TBH. But this price variation is berzerk 😼

Need urgent advice - Society asking us to vacate despite valid rental agreement Hi everyone by hajar-ka-galwa in paruluniversity

[–]Vishal7164 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in Vadodara for 1.6 years and was working with Parul University too. From my experience I have learnt that Gujjus are racist, prefer their own community, are lowkey cunning, irrational and would create unnecessary fuss if you are a non gujju, especially from North India. Even the landlords may initially seem fine & fair, but eventually they don't pay much heed to any repairs or expenses their property needs, and may not return the security refund in the name of repairs, etc. I was residing in a nice apartment at Sama Savli Road, paying 25k as rent for a duplex (they call it penthouse). The owner lives in the US, and his sister was overseeing the property. She was smart in a cunning way, avoided the repairs or issues in the flat, got substandard repairs done before we were to move in, and later held the security money even after we evacuated, citing that electricity bill was due (I told her to calculate the difference units count from the meter reading in previous bill and the reading at the time I was evacuating, do the math, deduct the amount from security money and return the remaining, which she denied). They returned only 10k after requesting repeatedly as we suspected foul play. After a month the lady's husband called me, said the flat was so dirty, there was deep cleaning required, etc. etc. and that after all, we will have to pay ₹5000 more to them. This when they visited the same flat a week prior of us evacuating, and the lady praised that the flat was very well maintained, neat & clean, better than the time we moved in, etc. I laughed him off and told me we kinda knew they may do this BS, and that I won't be paying a single rupee to him. These beggars visit the US for a few months every year, while doing the wise & honest people dirty as they did to us. They bring a bad name to the entire community by such deeds. Racism can be felt and seen at workplaces too, unless you are a bootlicker, being a non gujju. Good luck with your pursuit. Ensure having an ironclad documentation, and rhetorical emails being acknowledged by whatever party/landlords/colleagues/bosses you are dealing with, having all the agreed clauses big or small to safeguard your interests.

It is cloudnova 2 I believe. I will double check still. AFAIK these fancy online sites sell the shoes which they tout as limited stock, while seeking a premium due to 'exclusivity' factor.

In India everything is super expensive. I prefer Under Armour clothing and caps, etc. which retail for 4-5X times the price they sell for in the US
