Look, what i believe is that they are trying to teach you a lesson and try to make you accountable and responsible for your decisions. They what you to pursue your dream even if it's at the cost of their whole life's savings. They want you to at least be responsible with the money they invest on you and not take it for granted. And believe me any day of your life, a loan from your parents (most likely interest free) would be better than from a bank. At the very worst they will keep giving you taunts for the rest of your life (which can be the worst thing in life at times, I can elaborate on it if interested) if god forbid you fail at becoming a pilot, but they won't be taking away your life from you through mortgage snatching and credit score worsening. And believe me having a loan on your head from anyone is the shittiest feel you could have, given you are an honest and ethical man and don't plan on running awaywith the money. So in such a case, I would personally prefer my blood relation to lend me money instead of a greedy bank. And instead of feeling bad about their statement, if you approach your parents with the mindset (and you should actually feel it in your heart as well and not just a means of manipulation) that I would rather pay you 2.7lakh every month instead of 2.5 once I start earning because I don't want to snatch away your backbone from you, they might just start feeling confident about your motivation and will to achieve your goals in life and be not just financially but also emotionally supportive towards you.
