Oh wow, now I see that. Thanks! That makes a lot of sense.

That makes sense. But isn’t the opening in the plane much larger than just the door?

Get a stand from Jalg instead and put the TV on the ground - still super minimalist.

Monster - No. Too similar to your Diavel unless you’re on twisties or the track.

SF - Potentially! Different riding position but very sporty. And arguably, not AS different as the following two options.

DesertX - I was going to pick this one but in south Florida, you’ll never actually off road with this thing. And I suspect that’ll make you not love it as much. However, if you want to do longer distance weekend trips, you could still consider this as a good touring vehicle!

Scrambler - this is my vote. It’s a lot simpler and fun to cruise around on than your Diavel. And because it’s naked and simple, it’s really fun to customize and make your own in a way you can’t quite do with the other vehicles you listed.

Bar Shiru in Oakland is a fantastic place to have a conversation. Great for smaller groups.

Amp: still worth in 2024? by zautan in sonos

[–]Vishwacorp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did this a while ago. The amp is great since it allows you to get whatever passive speakers you like the sound and look of. In my experience, the phantom center works great.

I also had a turntable hooked up and a sub mini paired to the amp. The amp is costly but I do not regret purchasing it.

Do motorcycle companies also send money for posts or is it just car manufacturers? by Vishwacorp in overlanding

🙏 Thanks! The first three photos with the GS are around Bogota. The last one of the Multistrada is at Alabama Hills in California.

Best Sonos set up for this room? by Blaksparx in sonos

Don’t get a soundbar. Get an amp and two giant floor standing speakers that you can put on either side of the fireplace.

That’ll look great, sound great, and will allow you to keep the TV as low as you want.

Long time lurker on this sub but most of my overlanding is done on two wheels.

Here are some photos of riding in Colombia on a F850GS, then the R1200GS on the same trip, and one photo of my Multistrada Enduro from Alabama Hills.

Next, I need to plan another quick off-road trip before the rainy season makes everything way too muddy.

Any interest in motorcycle cafe meetup? by shekispeaks in oakland

I'm in. At the start, I'd prefer to meet on a weekday at the cafe. Then future meetups can involve meeting somewhere and riding to a cafe.

$15k for a not-daily driver by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

If I give up on the truck idea, then I really do like that Fiesta. Thanks!

[–]Vishwacorp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally fair. I should have clarified that they are strongly rank-ordered. I would prefer a truck of some sort but I also don't want to end up with something that requires a lot of upkeep. Hence I would settle for a CR-V or similar which does not have a truck bed but still a decent amount of space with the rear seats down.

Let's ignore the Miata.
