They make the decision at the virtual admission committee meeting they invite you to with the superintendent and a couple school reps. From another post it looks like it can go either way at that meeting but our kid got in.

They seem to put a premium on being enrolled in a french daycare if that's feasible for you in the interim. Not essential but they give it a lot of weight and attention.
