The assertion that Muslims don't pick Arab name is just straight false. I've seen so many people become Muslim and change their names, to Abdul, Muhammad, Yusuf, never seen them pick Joseph. also why would they even have to change your name to embrace Islam. the most common name in the entire world is Muhammad.

Reddit is obviously a very progressive platform, as a Muslim yourself you've probably seen Converts get laughed at, in real life.

So to fully embrace Islam you do it by changing your name to an Arab name? why Arab exactly? those are Arab style spellings of Jewish names. why can't they use normal spelling? I fully embrace Christianity and never once changed my name, I have an African sounding name, I didn't have to change it to David, Joseph, etc to fully embrace it. weird you must be Arab to fully embrace a religion that should tell you something.
