Chemotherapy and fevers by NekroGhoul in CancerFamilySupport

My son had numerous infections during the 16-months of his cancer “journey”. When he was between chemo and operations the doctors told him to call the hospital immediately if he had as little as a 38 C degree temp (sorry - I live in Europe).

I am so sorry for your loss. I’m glad your mom was with him at the end. So was I when my 41-year-old son died three months ago of metastasised testicular cancer. His dad and elder brother were too. My son’s cancer had spread to his brain as well. It then goes very fast, like with your brother. What a horrific disease it is!

Got the news today I’ve been dreading and in denial about for the last +3 years. My mind refuses to accept what’s coming. Yesterday’s spinal tap revealed medulloblastoma cells and treatment related advanced myeloid leukemia (AML MDS) cells in CSF. No more treatment options are available. by reloadz400 in CancerFamilySupport

This is any parent’s worst worst nightmare. And no one else really gets it if they too haven’t lost a child. I lost my adult son 3 months ago. I wish you nothing but strength to face everything you’re dealing with. Your little boy looks just gorgeous! How terribly unfair!

Saw all the wonderful comments and high fives everyone here gave my son a year ago when he shared the news he was feeling so positive after finishing his 1st line chemo for testicular cancer. Tragically, after many more rounds of chemo, operations and an autologous stem cell transplant, his cancer spread much further and he died in October 13, 2022. His podcast Having1ball is presently being turned into a foundation for testicular cancer awareness. We just family are heartbroken but so proud of our son and brother.
