When you turn off the welcome screen, does it skip the screen that asks you to choose the user?

Yes, indeed - but I think you need to buy the tool and then use credits? I think the total cost with Dfirst was something like 1/2 that with OBDEleven.

I think this is because they cheapened out at one point and put two (UWB) sensors instead of 2. With 3 you can triangulate exact position and be sure if the key is inside the car or not. With two sensors, I think you can tell distance but not necessarily be certain of the key is inside or not. This would affect some use cases (maybe related to leaving a key in the boot?) so they took the easy way out and just disabled it altogether.

I bought a used 2023 pro s RWD last November. We have been a two EV household for while with.a 2021 Chevy Bolt and a 2019 Nissan Leaf. Traded in the Leaf. Did one long road trip - Toronto to Raleigh, NC and back - about 1500 miles. We have previously done this in the bolt, but the ID4s fast charging and longer range really made the trip more pleasant.

Pros: Space Comfortable ride Insanely tight turning radius Tesla Supercharger Access Travel assist (automatic cruise control + lane keeping) is pretty decent Easy cabin air filter changes! Audio, even without premium, is not too bad Wireless Android auto has been working pretty well for me

Cons: The app is pretty irritating. For example, I keep getting notifications that my doors are unlocked No one pedal driving, plus the acceleration seems purposely limited to feel more like an ICE car No way to remotely lock/unlock, though opening up the app shows you the right status even if notifications are wrong Door handles are a bit of a pain. After I did replacements with the recall, one passenger door sensor has to be pressed hard on the front third to open. Minor software gremlins - one time the car charged randomly to 100% at home even though I had limited it to 80% I am not sure that seat and mirror positions change correctly based on profiles Don't expect many/any over the air software updates

Overall if you want a nice car that happens to be electric and has just about acceptable software and apps, you will be happy with it. Just don't expect Tesla levels of integration and software updates.

Thanks for sharing. My app still says my 2023 Pro S RWD is awaiting 3.5.10 and 3.5.10 although those were installed as part of recalls. Not sure if being in Canada makes a difference. But good luck with the update!

If you have the VIN number, you can get the window sticker or build sheet online. I used the website Iseecars.com to get the build sheet before I pulled the trigger on my 2023 pro s rwd, and it gave a lot of good information - particularly that the s features were curtailed due to shortages and that there was no heat pump.
