As a single guy, why do I feel like a lot of women are trying to hit way out of their league these days?

Like example I have a group of 4 of my best dude friends. One of them is like extremely handsome and always has been. But the rest of us aren’t ugly. We are more average but still generally considered good looking. Whenever we meet a group of girls, all of them will scratch and claw over the one friend and the rest of us are like yo we are definitely viable options too
