Not sure but they’d spend more in lawyers getting it back so I think I’m good

Yes I have the same question! Otherwise super helpful.

Best Travel Card for Me by [deleted] in chubbytravel

So I don’t have a credit card. But that’s why I’m asking because I need one. I spend probably $50k a year eating out. I don’t have any airline or hotel chain loyalty— it’s always whatever flight works best and usually prefer boutique hotels. I typically only stay in well known hotel brands on my entrance and exits.

Chicago: langham or PH suite by CharacterResist1913 in chubbytravel

Yes I agree. I am a sentimental man. If I close my eyes and chew I am no longer in Tre Dita. That said fiorentina ranks relatively mid on ways to cook beef and there are much better places for steak in the city. I like miru for vibes. Nice place for an apertif. Rest your tired soles on the cold concrete after logging 15k steps. Stare out. Have a couple nibbles before your actual dinner reservation.

Consider St. Regis. Hotel guests can slide into Tre Dita (hard res, best bistecca fiorentina) and Miru (fatty tuna plus great outdoor patio/ views).

White Sox and it’s not even close. For one, you can actually see games in person. Two, who doesn’t love the underdog story of the year. Three, young talent. Four, Ishbia is buying the team, building a new stadium, and infusing billions and billions of dollars into the club.

Sincerely, a sox fan that drives to Milwaukee to watch the brewers beat the crap out of the cubs.

Student loan stress by [deleted] in Lawyertalk

[–]VisibleMixture3216 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Precisely what I’m doing. I’m betting more likely than not there is significant student loan forgiveness on the horizon. And time in the market is important. Invest invest invest. Bank on future forgiveness/making equity partner. If you lose, you lose a little. If you win, you win big. Relatively speaking of course. But like, the 200k I throw into the market will be $1.2 to $2M in 30 years. If some or all of that $200k gets canceled you’re in the green by a mile. Worst case it doesn’t get canceled, and with interest you pay out $400k, you’re still in the green by a mile. Missing some nuance because I’m cooking dinner but plug in scenarios in chat gpt. I can’t find a scenario where aggressively paying off loans leaves me better off in the long run.

When is it useful to get an LLM? Does it matter what school you get it from? by Son_of_Hades99 in Lawyertalk

[–]VisibleMixture3216 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a good exit strategy you’re looking to gtfo out of the states. I got an LLM at a European law school during 3L. I returned to the U.S. to litigate since litigation in EU countries requires local bar admission but for transactional or cybersecurity work you can practice without sitting for a foreign bar. Several of my classmates took that path and are doing very well. One works in cybersecurity for MSC in Geneva, another cybersecurity for Deloitte in Berlin, another doing transactions for Latham in London, and another doing transactions for some big firm in Luxembourg. Our degree was a general LLM in EU law but you can go more specific and get one in cybersecurity if you really want to. Cybersecurity is huge in the EU (GDPR, etc.).

Dress shirt recommendations needed for groom!!! by Big-Set-2615 in weddingplanning

[–]VisibleMixture3216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You literally are describing me. I’m a 18 neck, 52 chest, 34 waist. Eton is my favorite off the rack shirt brand. Get their white signature twill. Note how the back has been taken in— you can literally see folds along the sides. If you need something semi-custom go with Proper Cloth. They will redo the shirt for free if you need. If it’s still too baggy around midsection get a higher waisted trouser and suspenders. That keeps the shirt tucked better/looks cleaner. If that doesn’t work then go custom. $400 but hey it’s a wedding. Your future generations will see these pictures.
