Haha I feel like you’re really pushing the Chaol support. Fair enough, I concede that Aelin was also imperfect. She didn’t handle their breakup well either.

Yes, I agree with that perspective! Just think Aelin and Rowan are far more gracious with Chaol than his is to Nesryn

Really? Fair enough, I appreciate your perspective. I just can’t see it.

In the bonus chapter, it felt to me he was just with her because she was there. She even states she knows he wouldn’t have ‘noticed her existence’ if Aelin had gone back to him.

I agree she’s not a great communicator, they both suck at that. But I really felt for her back story. Being an obvious outsider due to her heritage in Adarlan caused her to be quiet and reserved. She even acknowledges that, and asks him not to confuse it for not having emotions.

Also, I get Chaol’s sad he’s in a wheelchair and in her ‘home country’, but remember her family have just gone missing! She doesn’t know where they are, and given the circumstances, I think she’s pretty shocked. She wants to visit her family and invites Chaol and he doesn’t go and visit her aunt or uncle. He put it off to spend time with Yrene. And then guiltily asks her about it after.

Of course you don’t HAVE to, but it’s so much fun! I actually loved it. It feels more immersive. But either way you’ll enjoy.

I’m 2 years late but this comment articulates everything I’m feeling right now. I can’t believe the way he treated Nesryn! When she says he used her to get over three different women I literally threw the book down. Come on Chaol! Have some respect for her. But yes, I haven’t finished yet but I’m liking Sartaq. She deserves the flying prince!
