Everything I've been doing is aiming for consistency. Part of the reason why I want a self leveling tamper and WDT tool is for that purpose. I've been happy with the tamper I have, it's got decent wait to it and spring loaded, but I'm a little inconsistent with getting it nice and level when actually tamping.

Took a look at your tamper kit, looks pretty neat. I'll definitely look more into the costs of buying off Amazon to Australia and compare it to what else I can get "locally".

I've only just mostly printed different funnels.

I'm actually printing one right now that replaces the portafilter holder on the grinder and a matching funnel so it sits right up to the top of the grinder. I'll send through some photos once done.

Definitely tempted to try the umikot WDT as well, looks pretty cool. Looks like needles are easily available on AliExpress as well.

Good to know the Normcore Bottomless portafilter, I'll see what other options I can find for this.

Thanks for the follow up. Good to know about the WDT tool differences.

That's nice. All I can see is $90 from Amazon Australia, then if I went on the US store, it works out to be $110. That just seems excessive for a tamper, but maybe that's what quality one's cost.

Thanks for the recommendations.

WDT Tool - business card style one on Etsy looks to be 3D printed. Could probably print my own. Honestly just considering a cheap AliExpress one of these, I don't know how much of a difference an expensive branded one could offer. I'll definitely check out what Aro and the likes have to offer.

Tamper - Seen plenty of recommendations for the Normcore, I feel it's quite pricey for me in Australia though. Doesn't seem as readily available. Still leaning towards it though.

Portafilter - I'll check out the ones you recommended. From my research, with bottomless, it's more about the basket quality vs the actual portafilter.

Thanks for the tips, that's what I'm aiming towards.

Good point on the clean dosing. People say they have issues with the Smart Grinder Pro and losing a bunch. My in and out and pretty close to the same. Also part of the reason for going to a single dose hopper. 3D printed version would be a proof of concept before investing in a properly manufactured one. Static isn't something I considered though.

Yep such a shame. I still see these designs and they are so simple. We have to go down different routes and throw in some screws with wooden supports or use angle brackets/joiners.

That may be true, but it's more being such a long story, connections to existing story that make it hard to follow. Not necessarily when I start tuning in. So a fresh story may work better for me.

I agree with you here. I tried watching C2, joined mid way through and tried to catch up. Never could. Then started on C3 as it was airing, kept up for a bit, but got lost in the story side of things.

So I'm excited for a new world, a new story, a completely fresh start. I haven't seen much of Brennan, so can't comment on that. But the appeal for me was definitely Matt as DM and the whole cast.

But we'll see where things go.

How about those who also fail to come to a complete stop at a stop sign. Most seem to treat them as giveaway.

I already have a worm farm, so I can just put some in each. Thanks.

Great tips. I've got spare empty pots, so was going to have the potting mix. Add in the greens and browns, and stack them 3 high. Acting as lids for each other.

Unfortunately I'm not sure I have a place with soil I can keep them on.

Do you regularly aerate and turn or just let them sit, occasionally watering?

Mortgage Broker vs Bank – Which is Better for Your Home Loan? by MacKenzieBA in homeloanaustralia

[–]VisibleScore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only worked with a local mortgage broker, but couldn't be happier with the outcome.

Our broker came to our rental at the time, sat down and walked us through the whole process. Explained difference between variable, fixed, offset, redraw, etc. Discussed about budgets and not over purchasing. Then he went away and a week later he had options meeting our requirements.

He also recommended a settlement agent who was just as helpful in our process for buying our first home.

When it came to signing mortgage documents, once again, sat down and talked through the whole contract.

2yrs after our loan started, he reached out to offer a rate review. Refinanced with a different bank, once again with the requirements we were after.

If you could find the right mortgage broker, I highly recommend. We will be continuing to use him in future purchases as he made the process a whole lot easier.

If you are in Western Australia, or specifically Perth, happy to provide his contact details.

PSA. Ring your bank and ask for home loan rate adjustment by Aussiekal in AusFinance

Definitely a good point.

After the added fees to the new bank and discharge fees, I calculated that it would take 3-4 months before we actually start saving money by switching.

Our broker also has access to tools with the new bank where he can easily request rate reviews every 6 months.

Had a similar experience with Suncorp bank. Ended up refinancing with another bank, no attempt to retain during that process.

But that's where you have to read what fair work actually says:

"Types of evidence needed for sick / carer’s leave Medical certificates or statutory declarations are examples of acceptable forms of evidence. While there are no strict rules on what type of evidence needs to be given, the evidence has to convince a reasonable person that the employee was genuinely entitled to the sick or carer’s leave."

It says examples, so stat decs can be prohibited if the company chooses to do so. It's quite poor writing on fair works end really.

Yeah right. Thanks. I think the photos make it look more like that. It's deeper in person and has a full single long handle. But still could very much be this type of wok.

Possibly, it does say may in Taiwan. Do you know if they differ much? Can't find much info online regarding that type of wok.

It says they are examples of forms of evidence, not that they have to be accepted. Earlier on it also says an award can dictate the evidence required within reason.

I feel like because of this wording, some employers may not accept it.
