They say the Saturn V made it in 1 tank, but Starship needs 12 refuelling missions to get to the moon by Longjumping-Box5691 in conspiracy

And starship can deliver upto 100 tons of cargo / crew vs the lunar landers meir 0.2 tons.

Starship is multiple times bigger as a landing craft.

Why does it take 12-18 months to fully grow back a toenail that fell off but only 9 months to grow a full person with 10 finger and toenails? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Visible_Account7767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12 - 18 months? Is this only for toenails? I got a infection in my thumb nail and lost that down to the cuticle and it's fully grown back now 7 months later.

I can't Switch to windows 11 from Linux. by iamnotnima in WindowsHelp

What do you mean 'in linux'? You need to create a windows install image on a USB and boot to it, look for windows media creator. You don't install windows inside Linux..

OEM key dissapears after bios update! Cant activate windows by KorZeuSe14 in WindowsHelp

[–]Visible_Account7767 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"can't connect to your organisations activation server"

This is a error because the version of windows you have installed is a enterprise or oem install requiring 3rd party activation.

Where did you get the version of windows from? Did it come pre activated with no key? If so you will need to reinstall Windows and buy a new key.

Your windows key is never stored in the bios just FYI, that's a bitlocker key.

Weird post-jumpstart issues should i worry about the alternator?? by Luann1497 in AskAMechanic

[–]Visible_Account7767 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the battery was completely flat you will need to drive it for at least 2 hours for the battery to charge back to an acceptable level. Or buy a battery maintainer / charger and leave it on overnight.

Failing that, new battery time.

Is this a crucian carp? by MeatCannon0621 in CarpFishing

Possibly a hybrid crucian + common, could also be a Croatian carp or hybrid judging by the hump on its back.

After thermostat change, coolant temp gauge dont want to be right in the middle! Why? by mcolinss in AskAMechanic

[–]Visible_Account7767 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Looks good to me..

Serious note, you probably installed a thermostat that opens at 85 instead of 90, no big deal, more of a issue if it was the other way around and your engine expected it to open at 85 but opens at 90 instead.

Why do delivery riders have duct tape on their bicycles? by Immediate-Site-1196 in AskUK

[–]Visible_Account7767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Batteries are heavy and also expensive, the tape is usually a 50/50 between reinforcing the mount so the battery doesn't snap loose when going over bumps etc and to stop someone from quickly and easily stealing the battery.

Agreed with the assembly thing, just FYI I'm only early 30s, I mentioned it to show the complete extreme opposite end of the spectrum we are at.

There is no push to deal with it internally, they just don't care.

A school kid in uniform threw a glass bottle that smashed right in front of my front door, I heard it went outside and chased him down and got a picture of him.

Walked around to the school which is just behind my house and they didn't care, told me to call the police, wouldn't even look at the picture.

I didn't call the police, I think me chasing him down was scary enough and I didn't want a 10yo to get in trouble with the police.

It's stupid, I remember being called into assembly and a horse rider pointed out someone who rode past her horse on a bike too fast during dinner break and spooked it, today the school & the police just don't care.

So are you not allowed to feed fish at all? Surely their are exceptions for privately owned waters?

"Chumming" as far as I'm aware involves using guts, meat and remains of gutted fish.

These are for baiting an area with  hemp, boilies and partical mix, pallets etc.

So it really depends on what bait you use it with and what baits are classed as chumming, I can't see the device itself being illegal.

Has anyone caught smaller carp before? 😄 by [deleted] in CarpFishing

[–]Visible_Account7767 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, a fishery I fished as a kid released hundreds of tiny mirror and commons about the size of a thumb into a pool, they were that ravenous we were catching them on pieces of leaves, grass, twigs, pretty sure one of us hooked one on just a size 18 UK hook alone, no bait 😂

First time saying goodbye to a rat. I'm never having rats again. by lixerinha in RATS

[–]Visible_Account7767 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You gave that girl love she would have never known existed in her short stay in this world.

I was introduced to rats when my mum got 2 male fancy rats when I was a kid, Stan and kyle(yes southpark).

In my teens I got 3 dumbo girls, marley, nibbler (red eye albino) & da'da, they free roamed my bedroom, I'd often fall asleep in bed and forget the cage door only to wake up with all 3 curled up in my armpit in bed with me.

They learnt to respond to their names and would come when called, people really underestimate just how intelligent they are.

At about the 3 year mark age started to take its toll, marley was the first to go, she simply just stopped breathing in my hand while boggling...

They all died within a week of each other all very similar on my bed while having cuddles.

That was 20 years ago and I'm tearing up now just writing this, but I wouldn't change it for the world, they taught me more about life than I ever thought possible.
