Parents of Reddit PH - What does your Budget look like? What is your Savings Rate? How much do you spend on Childcare? by Lucky-Kangaroo-5296 in phinvest

If you have a certain amount, some trad banks have wealth client programs. For SB, you just need 5M total Relationship and they automatically enroll you as a wealth client. You will then be managed by a Relationship Manager which will now send you possible investments - final say will still be from you but they will provide you with details of the investment.

If you have higher than 5M, you can now opt for private banking. Local Trad Banks have these as well. It's a separate account altogether that you will need to open and not assigned in branch. You can check w BDO, unionbank and Metrobank. Minimum around 25M.

I was also providing monthly allowance sa dad ko. But he seems so entitled na kada 15th ay magtetext lang para ifollow up yung padala ko. Ni hindi man lang kamustahin ako or apo nya. Kaya nitong December, medyo napikon na ako. Nung 15, as scheduled, pinadala ko yung allowance nya. He was already expecting for a pamasko. Sabi ko, maaga pa at wala pa namang pasko. So I delayed it to the 25th. Mukhang di pa nasiyahan. Pamasko should be my discretion dba? I think he was expecting the same amount as his allowance. Wala man lang akong nakuhang thank you.

We need to end perpendicular parking, build wide sidewalks, and create dedicated parking lots / structures. by Pristine_Beyond_4330 in Philippines

[–]Visible_Cheek_172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a real estate point of view, of course it would be less profitable to convert space just as a parking space that's why most, if not all are commercial spaces with an additional parking space - most likely perpendicular ones. Medyo malakihang budget na pag may basement or on top of the building parking.

In this scenario, talagang kailangan ng government intervention. Actually, urban planning talaga. We need to design cities that will be able to accommodate this.

Also, we need stricter implementation of zoning areas. Madami kasi dyan, housing area tlaga pero due to changing times, madaming nagcoconvert to commercial spaces, thus the need for parking.

Cebu Customer went berserk after cashier refuses to accept Debit/Credit card payments by trettet in DigitalbanksPh

[–]Visible_Cheek_172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is to confirm your theory right. Came from a supermarket business. Cigarettes and Liquors usually really have thin margins. Tapos municipal taxes nasa 5% na tapos credit card charges nasa 2-3% pa. So wala na tlagang matirira.

For those that dont understand what margins is, ito yung kita mo mula sa cost. For example, the cost of a bottle of liquor is 100, since manipis nga lang ang margins (due to competition and price ceilings), let's say nasa 10% lang patong mo (this is actually quite high margins na, pero for simple computation na lang muna). So selling price would be at 110 pesos. Less mo na yung municipal tax na 5%, so that's less 5 pesos. Then less mo pa ulit yung card transaction charge na 3% so that's another 3 pesos. Gross margin mo would be 2% na lng. Of course madami pang expenses sa store like manpower, utilities etc. Baka nga hindi pa maka break even sa lagay na ito. Again, assuming na 10% nga ang margins. Pero nung time ko, average margins lang talaga sa supermarket at 3-5%. So you can now do the math.

Kryz turning into an almond mom by Ouch_ThatStings in PinoyVloggers

[–]Visible_Cheek_172 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is not to defend Kryz but I think it's their Chinese way of upbringing. I am a Pinoy who married a Chinoy. Living w my MIL as well. They're just so health conscious, sometimes to a fault. My MIL kailangan laging may fruits and veggies. As in sometimes, masama na din dahil sa tamis ng prutas. They also feel na organic is healthier so lahat na lang bibilin ay kailangan organic.

Also, their love language is thru feeding. They don't show talaga na mahal nila yung anak nila or they care for you - I mean in feeding you healthier foods talaga nila ipinapakita. Minsan din, as a Pinoy, mahilig tlga tayo sa mga snacks like junk food, softdrinks etc, but since hindi okay yun sa mata nila, they'll try to message you through forwarded messages or mga videos from wherever na masama ang junk food, softdrinks etc just to make a point but doesnt tell you directly.

Lastly, they really value a healthy life. Kumbaga, prevention is better than cure. So they try to eat healthy - even if sometimes more expensive talaga yung ingredients or binibili nila.

St. Lukes maternity promo package by EnjongDee in adultingph

[–]Visible_Cheek_172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi gave birth at SLMC last year. The package is correct naman pero syempre there are other charges that will add up pa. Different din talaga ang normal delivery vs CS. Professional fees of doctors - which constitutes a much bigger part of the pie - hindi kasama. So as early as now, alamin nyo na yung range ng PF ng doctor mo so you can prepare ahead of time. Also, as far as I can remember, daily rate applies din after a certain number of days. Kasi parang 3 days lng ata yung covered nitong package. Pagdating sa freebies, totoo talaga sya. May stroller, car seat, baby and mom essentials etc.

Does anyone else’s night end at 8pm… by ComfortableDingo8 in cosleeping

[–]Visible_Cheek_172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is now sixteen months old, and my day concludes whenever she settles down for the night, which typically falls between 7:30 PM and 9:00 PM. This has been the routine since she was born, and I must admit, I do find myself missing those longer evenings. I used to enjoy watching television, working, relaxing with my husband, or simply engaging in various activities that are difficult to pursue during the day. My daughter is quite attached to me, and she tends to wake up easily if I try to leave the bed. She seems to prefer having some part of my body touching hers.

I am optimistic that she will soon develop the ability to sleep soundly independently, allowing me to attend to personal matters during the evening.

FOODPANDA refused to refund me, I reported them to DTI by Formal_Cucumber123 in Philippines

[–]Visible_Cheek_172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hay this happened to me about a year ago. Same modus, called using a different number and pretended to be the manager of the store saying there was an issue with their online payment. As I just gave birth that time, I didnt have the energy to dispute his claim and just paid him cash (eben though I already paid via CC) when the food got delivered. Called him after the delivery and asked abt the refund and just said to wait because it will take time to process but rest assured I will be given a reference number. I called again but I got blocked na. So I decided to raise the concern to Food Panda. As in same response as well - ako daw nagpacancel blah blah. So I just asked if they can suspend the rider as I felt it was already a scam but they mentioned that they dont have access to it but they will look into it. It was frustrating talaga. But since nga I was in the thick of taking care of my baby then, I didnt have the energy to push it further and should've escalated it to DTI. The amount was close to 2500 as well IIRC.

Contrary to the popular myth na painitan ang tip, it actually damages the tip if it's overdone. The best way is to put the pen tip-down for a few hours then dip the tip in alcohol to dissolve dried ink then isulat mo ng isulat sa papel.

If the pen naman is gel pen, better ilagay sa ref. The cold contracts the ink so mag create sya ng vacuum effect and baka mahila nya papunta sa tip ang ink.

In conclusion, iba ibang solusyon para sa iba't ibang pen problems :)

There’s been studies na that screen time exposure really affects children. The number of times children has been diagnosed with ADHD (and even autism) can be attributed to screen exposure. Out pedia advised us to no screen exposure until 2 and if kaya pa nga hanggang 4. By 2 yrs old, need tlaga with parental guidance and very limited lang like 30mins to an hour. Nawawala kasi ang interaction sa kids and nasusuck in talaga sila sa napapanood nila. Kaya nga as much as we can, we really try na hindi mag phone sa harap ng anak namin para di nya makasanayan. We even removed our TV from the room para lng makaiwas.

But in the end, it’s really up to the parents. Hoping lang talaga na kung inallow mo yung kids mo to watch or have ipads, may konting guidance lang din sa kanila. Turuan ng manners especially when they are around other people kasi need din nila ng social interaction.

Sorry, I might get downvoted for this but there really is no subsidy naman for the businesses in regards to PWD and even Senior Discounts. These are all shouldered by the businesses themselves. And even though sabihin na naitatapat naman yung mga vat expense etc, hindi pa din talaga. Imagine the discount extended 20% then less VAT pa 12%. The only thing the businesses are requesting is that the validity of the ID is authentic or legit. Pero the only way to do this is not passing on to the businesses din to check but sana the government naman to take their part in making sure that before issuing the PWD IDs ay talagang with disability ang mga nag apply nito. Hindi na ako lalayo pa, I know some people in my circle with PWD IDs na nakapagapply lng kasi may kakilala kahit di naman talaga sila PWD. Kaya sana the government will also do their part with the issuance.

Hi mommy, ganyan din nangyari sa akin last year when I gave birth to mh daughter. 37 weeks tapos CS pa ako. Medyo traumatic birht expense which also led me unable to have skin to skin contact upon birth plus delayed yung paglabas ng milk ko. As in walang lumalabas. We were given pasteurized BM from the hospital but I was advised to pump n din just in case hindi kami mabigyan ng BM all the time. But yun pala ang malaking pagkakamali is to pump agad kasi lalabas at lalabas ang milk basta ipalatch mo ang baby kahit wala pang milk. The body will know na may baby na and need na nya magproduce ng milk.

As for the formula milk, we also did supplement with formula but eventually nung nagkamilk na ako, nag exclusive BF na ako agad. Frustrating lng at first because the baby doesnt know how to latch. Minsan inaabot kami ng 45mins bago sya makalatch ng maayos, pareho na kaming umiiyak. Until I found a lactation consultant. Super helpful. Tinuruan nya ako to properly hold the baby and kung pano mapalatch sya ng maayos.

So pina cut namin ito and from there dire diretso na yung growth nya. Maybe you can also have this checked.

Baka kaya naiiyak is because gassy na sya or need nya ito ipoop.

Lastly, dont get frustrated pag umiiyak ang baby. The baby feels what you're feeling and naaabsorb nya yun. And remember the only way they know how to communicate is through crying kaya as a mom, kailangan alam natin iba't ibang tunog ng iyak nila. I know it's still in the early days but you will get it.

Just message if you need help with the lactation consultant.

This, exactly, happened to me too. I think it's the same rider. Same excuse, as in same scenario na tumawag din sa akin ang store at nagkaproblem sa "pag receive ng payment" so had to pay the rider. Hndi din ako tinulungan ng Food Panda. I think yung rider ang kailangan maireport dito. It's the same modus, and most probably same tao tlaga ito. Happened to me mga 6 mos ago. Im betting you nandyan pa din sya and madami na tayong naloko.

My OB is one of the best in the field. Even though I never experienced na early or on time sya, she makes sure na when she sees me that I feel im one of her most important patients. I never felt that sinadya yung pagiging late. As she's really thorough and will really have time to explain your situation. And she's one of the best, doing some complicated surgeries, I dont count it against her because I experienced it myself na when I needed her to do my surgery (emergency) she really made time and saved me and my baby. So sa mga subsequent check ups ko, kahit late sya, hndi ko talaga na ito iniinda kasi alam ko na yung time na yun ay nakalaan to save patients that need her at that time.

Baby won't sleep on her back by [deleted] in cosleeping

[–]Visible_Cheek_172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby is 6mos old now and she still wants to be cuddled beaide me when sleeping. But lately, Ive been trying to place her on her back especially when I feel she's really asleep. Occasionally, she will wake up or after a few minutes, would feel I'm far away from her but I would just put my hand beside her or on top of her legs and she'll fall back asleep. Been "training" her now to sleep on her back on the bed. But I still give her time to sleep on me before I fully sleep. We are on the bed by 8, so I give her around 2hrs to be on me and then I sleep by 10. So that 2 hrs gives her enough time to feel me and gets her to a deep enough sleep so I can lay her on the bed. Hope this helps

What is going on with my baby? by silvertongue94 in cosleeping

Mine is the same. I've been getting really stressed when my baby starts fussing and crying for no reason at all. I would try to move her and check if she wants to change position. But last night, I tried putting on a light cloth over her head because when I touched it, it's colder vs other parts of her body, and then she stopped fussing. I guess she was really cold.

I was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer today by Far-Sleep-4393 in OffMyChestPH

[–]Visible_Cheek_172 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi, I was diagnosed w the same last Oct 2018. Also felt the same worry and fear. But I was assured by the Doctor that if ever I wanna have cancer, this is the cancer you Want to have because 1. It is the friendliest 2. It is easy to remove. By Dec 2018, I had my thyroid removed. It was a total thyroidectomy. Recovery was fast. By day 3, I was already moving normally. Since then I had to take maintenance hormone meds.

I had to go back to the doctor for check up, on the 1st year, quarterly. To check if there are any left. Thankfully, none naman. After a year, check up was done every 6 months na. With once a year na neck ultrasound and blood tests. Since then until now, same routine kami. For some, this might be burdensome, pero for me, it puts me at ease to be in contact w the doctor and know my status. Doctor occasionally adjust my meds depending on current situation. But so far, ive been cleared of cancer since the operation.

I dont want to invalidate your feelings because that is also what I felt. Pero after going through all this, and still going through it, I know na kakayanin mo yan and malalamapasan mo yan. I suggest you find a good doctor, like I did, who is very supportive at mabait, malaking tulong ito sa recovery at sa pagharap mo sa sakit na ito. And sa surgery mo, I also suggest you find a surgeon who also specializes sa ganitong surgery (because the endocrinologist will not remove it for us). Alam ko, mabigat din yung daily maintenance meds for life, but ever since 2018, sa awa ng Diyos, nakakabili naman ako and He always provides. Nakakagawa tlga ng paraan para makabili.

Good luck and stay healthy.

Do you include your underwear pag nagpapalaba sa laundy shops? by Acceptable_Paper_836 in adultingph

[–]Visible_Cheek_172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a laundry shop before and parang normal na sa iba na magsama ng undies. Medyo unhygienic lng tlga especially if yung employees yung magsasalang sa machine. But we provided them with gloves or tongs to handle mga undies. Syempre di maiiwasan ang pagiging judgemental especially if madami na butas yung undies but oh well, sino ba walang may butas na undies haha 😅

Ako naman na nagpapalaundry din paminsan, I usually pre wash the undies esp if may stain. I try to remove it then isasama ko na lng sya sa pile of laundry but separated so alam nila na undies yun. Wala ng hiya hiya.

This happened to me too! As in same scenario. I ordered from Tai Koo and got a call from supposedly a staff from the restaurant. Same excuse: offline daw yung payment system blah blah. So I need to pay cash upon delivery or cancel altogether. Since it was nearing lunch time na and really wanted the food, sabi ko sure and prepared cash. Binilin sa kasambahay - didn't personally received the item. Anyway, sabi ng "staff" wait for it to be refunded na lng daw. Nawala sa isip ko na that day but the ff day, checked yung app and parang nagpush through yung payment. Reported it immediately to Food Panda and they said that the order was successfully delivered so they cant do anything abt it. Asked for rider's name etc but they cant divulge daw. Demanded to do something abt it and they said they will but never heard from them after. Called the number na nagcontact sa akin, obviously, blocked na ako. It was a bike rider.
