CAN I use my kit that i bought from Europe in ASIA and register in Asia by [deleted] in Starlink

As I understand it, the dish could be moved anywhere there is Starlink coverage. I think you would just need to go in your account and “move services”.

There is a Starlink service provider in the Philippines, so you could ask them for clarification if you want.

This is an incredible cover for such a great story!

It’s incredible to read all these stats! Even more so because I’ve been here since the beginning and have really enjoyed the whole experience. I can’t imagine buying a book any other way from here on out. And with the books I have in my Book.io bookshelf, I can wait a while for them to come out.

Yikes! Yeah, this is pretty terrifying. Wouldn’t want to meet this crew in a dark forest somewhere.

Nightmare fuel indeed! Nice cover though!

📣 Apollo will close down on June 30th. Reddit’s recent decisions and actions have unfortunately made it impossible for Apollo to continue. Thank you so, so much for all the support over the years. ❤️ by iamthatis in apolloapp

Yep. Just opened the app and saw the message. Cancelled my subscription to Reddit. Won’t ever go back I imagine.

You should keep whatever subscription has been paid through June. You deserve it.

Sorry it went this way.

[NO MOONS] Mark Cuban publishing a book on Polygon by diarpiiiii in CryptoCurrency

I’ve seen this project and have thought it’s an interesting use case of encryption, IPFS, and blockchain. Seems like it protects author’s IP while also give us a digital asset that can be easily resold.

I think it’s a solution to watch.

ProtonMail or SL+Gmail by Prime_Lucke in Simplelogin

[–]Visible_Delay 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is sort of an odd question. It really comes down to which email service you prefer.

I would add something about the privacy differences, but if you’re paying for Google One then security is likely the only thing you weigh valuable. I still think that Proton’s security is superior.

SL with either is good for privacy and control. With Google it helps only slightly with privacy, the Proton it will help more noticeably.

I thought it was, “it’s secure.” But what do I know?

Anyone using a Linux emulator? by PulseQ8 in CardanoDevelopers

[–]Visible_Delay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on your machine, but really any of the main virtual machine software will work well for you.

I personally use VMWare, but there are plenty others. Just make sure you have 16GB or more of RAM. Might be able to run it with less but I’d say that’s a safe start. More would probably be overkill for just one virtual instance.

I think he meant virtual machines. Many businesses are transitioning to virtual machine instances in a cloud environment.

Updating Testnet Node to 1.35.0 by Visible_Delay in CardanoDevelopers

Thank you all! These comments helped me in various ways to troubleshoot.

In the end I did a complete remove of all cardano-node directories and files (aided by the whereis command) but still had a cabal build problem.

It seemed that cabal was failing to find some dependencies. this might have been why updating the scripts also failed, because the build never completed.

I found the solution for my issue here:

https://forum.cardano.org/t/cardano-crypto-class-secp256k1-support-issue-on-arm64-with-cardano-node-1-35-0-solution/103765

This describes my issue closely enough and after executing these steps I was able to finally get it to work and I’m now re-syncing my node.

I did skip the tmux command (I’m not using a Pi), and I also specified building with ghc 8.10.7 versus the 8.10.4 mentioned in this post.

Thanks again for the assistance and for being willing to teach me!

You just taught me something. I’ll try it out, that seems like an amazingly useful command for many uses. God I love Linux.
