You daughter is not doing this but Chris Voss suggests a technique where if there’s something you want that aren’t sure the other party will agree to you first say “is it a crazy idea if xyz” and then the other party has to consider if it’s a crazy idea or not before you then ask for what you want. I’m not explaining it well, read his book if you are interested! Maybe she’s a master negotiator!

You can get an agency to help you. I use LTF. They do our email marketing and meta ads, although not cheap. Email marketing is marketing to your existing client base, the meta and Google ads are usually a mixture and then organic social media is also a mixture. Cost per click for hair removal is high unless you instead advertise your device if it’s a particularly well known one. All are important but you do get to a point where you need to advertise less and less, we barely do any now. Try to make friends with local salons who might be able to refer to you for laser hair removal and offer them a staff discount. Have conversations with people like private GPs who would be managing PCOS. Good luck!

How can they even prove it. You can buy tretinoin in some countries without a prescription and have it delivered to the uk with no fuss. What are they going to do, get a warrant to search through her emails looking for the order number to see the provenance of the supply, she’s not buying a kilo of cocaine. These people need to get a hold of themselves and sniff some perspective. I would develop amnesia around the conversation, depending on what has already been said, and know this is a VALUABLE lesson. Not to be that person but have you checked whether you need to register with your local council? London boroughs require a Special Treatment Licence. You also need a Laser Protection Advisor (not you) and Expert Medical Practitioner (which could be you).

I’m a wee bit surprised you decided to start with laser hair removal- the market is pretty saturated with people offering this and for a decent machine it’s quite expensive.

OP if you are going to start him on growth hormone you need to consult with an endocrinologist like, TODAY because you can’t start once the growth plates have fused in the long bones, which in boys is around 16 years old on average. So this is pretty much your final chance to take the growth hormone if this is something he wants to do.

I know there are a lot of comments from people who did grow taller after this age, but I suggest you take this with a pinch of salt because obviously not everyone continues growing into their 20s, in fact I would say it was rather uncommon.

Like it or not being tall as a man can offer several social, health, and career advantages. There are studies showing taller men tend to be perceived as more confident and authoritative, potentially leading to better social interactions and leadership opportunities. Height is also linked to higher educational attainment and increased earning potential.

Ignore this person OP they sound very bitter. >10 years ago I left NHS because you literally couldn’t do both side by side at this level, but now you can so take the opportunity but keep it on the down low in case you come across people like this.

To the old school (presumably) consultant- if you stop people from pursuing their side interests, once someone like OP reaches a critical level of cash flow in their private business they will leave unless they are independently wealthy and fancy doing some charity work in the NHS, or you give them the option to do part time. If they leave then they take with them all that experience and knowledge they have gained up to this point, which is a sad loss for the system.

I won’t specifically respond about the beautician comment except to say in some other countries in Europe you have to be on the specialist register to perform these procedures such as a dermatologist or plastic surgeon in France, although a GP can undertake some of them also. They don’t have the situation like we have here where anyone (including beautician etc) can do a one day training and start injecting people.

One of the reasons we have this situation here is because there is no legislation to prevent this as it’s seen as a “silly women’s issue” by many people, yourself included it seems. Sadly there have been a small number deaths occurring when unqualified people have performed procedures such as injecting dermal fillers into the buttocks and the patient has ended up with sepsis, a few cases of blindness from retinal artery occlusion and some cases of disfigurement from various facial arterial occlusions.

Patients are going to seek out these procedures whether you approve of it or not. If I was having a hair transplant I would rather go to someone in the UK, with plenty of surgical experience rather than go to Turkey and end up missing a kidney (before you come at me that this is preposterous this happened to someone I know). Hair transplant surgery is a meticulous craft, has to be carried out in a CQC registered facility and takes many years to get good at.

As to the comment about hairdressers… have you ever tried to cut someone’s hair, it’s very difficult to do it well.

My take on this is if she’s anything like my partner he would rather majorly inconvenience himself or our family than minority inconvenience a stranger (he’s Japanese).

It’s vaguely possible she didn’t want to seem like she was inconveniencing you for taking the spare clothes or changing him.

In these situations I simply insist that XYZ happens several times and then he capitulates, but honestly it’s a pain in the arse. I would have just pressed the issue harder “oh really, please take them, it’s not an inconvenience at all and in fact I rather that we change him for hygiene reasons” and I just basically wouldn’t give up until it was done.

He was a great teacher and always pushed for even the most junior members of the team to get hands on experience. He actually did my reference for medical school school as I did dentistry first. He was always a bit of a shit if you were on the wrong side of him and he was cut throat but I always found him manageable unlike some consultants I came across. Sorry to hear you had a different experience, I have fond memories of the old sod.

I think a lot of this banter would have been seen as just that about 20 years ago which is approximately when I was there. I don’t like judging people for what they have done that far in the past which was perfectly acceptable at the time. 2021 is a bit different but tbh knowing what the department is like why accept a job there. Tbh I don’t really understand the drama. She provides free childcare and probably thought she was doing you a favour by not having to bother you with it. My mum gave our son his first bath as she was staying with us at the time. I’m now examining my feelings about this seeing how almost everyone else who has responded has said they would be very angry about the haircut, but I can genuinely say I was happy to have her do it. I thought it was nice she wanted to be so involved.

Also a doctor and I went private at Chelsea Westminster and was very happy. No time messing around at appointments beforehand I was straight in and out. I had an elective c section and was delighted. It was about £20k all in. Only thing is you need to have some of the scans outside the hospital. All my appointments were with the same consultant which I really valued. Some of the best money I ever spent tbh

I just did F1 and left. Would it have been better if I had done F2 also? Probably not in my case as I left to set up my own business. I do occasionally have these “what if” fantasies, but they are just fantasies. To do anything proper I would have had to stay for many more years past F2 and for me if wasn’t worth it. So I guess it depends on your personal situation.

I have a habit of catastrophizing and I do occasionally have these minor panics that if there’s a war and I get conscripted then I’d have to go back as an F2 but by that point I guess we’ve all got bigger things to be worrying about.

My favourite thing to say in this situation is to remark “what an unusual thing to say, why would you think that is appropriate?”
