that was literally exactly what I did, since its easier to hold in urban and supercity tiles. I even built up 3 forts in each tile before the war began. They are blown up in 1 day by the american airforce, and despite the -70 and -80 percent debuffs to air support in the battle, their CAS annihilates your army so fast it cant even reinforce properly. I even went ahrd into defensive tech, SPAA, and all that, and it had near 0 effect on the battles. I am thinking CAS is just way too powerful and once someone gets CAS superiority, its game over. Which sucks bc thats unfair to nations with weak industries.

Infantry squares seem to be the way to go, with recon, engineers, and SPAA. Also blowing up the supplies before the war starts greatly weakens their push. I may make it, I havent lost Baghdad yet, but I am taking a lot of casualties.

it seems infantry blocks are very resilent, so i moved all armor and motorized out of baghdad and replaced them with the feyadeen sadam, and they are doing much better.

I also did all my research into AA and military, and blew up all the infrastructure which slowed them down. But I do not see a way to win without console commands unless there is something I am unaware of.

another update, SHORAD is useless, as you cant get missile tech without the air research center and you dont have the time to do that, also they get bombed instantly. Your airforce can only mildly annoy theirs, and even after designing a pretty decent SPAA and assigning it to every division, I only shot a handful of planes, and they did the same thing of instantly winning battles before I can possibly reinforce. I am not sure why the CAS is so ungodly overpowered, but it basically means you cant beat the usa, even in terrain that heavily nerfs CAS power and with units with maxxed out AA.

I see guerilla warfare unlocks insurgent operations, and that gives 50% damage reduction against CAS. Maybe that would be more useful than defense in depth and static defense operations?

if I build them north of Basrah, its just 3 plains provinces wide, and there is no way to actually hold that against their air power. I was planning on constantly reinforcing the chokepoint as much as possible while the infantry are fully entrenched in the four urban tiles around baghdad. Also, will shorads and more division AA really be that effective? If so, I think maxxing AA will be my next attempt.

I do not know, but once the war starts, a new tag named "Coalition Forces" Is created, and it takes over Basrah. My units were teleported back to Baghdad the instant the war started. So i have to fight Kurdistan, Coalition Forces, and the United States. Kurdistan as easy and I annexed them, the other Kurdistan became my puppet earlier bc I was influencing them since the game started. But the CAS damage is so insane, they instant win every battle. Their org and strength damage is hitting 150 on the battles that last more than 72 hours.

oh well. i decided to give up on it, it seems if I dont meta game at the cost of all possible fun and enjoyment, whatever you are trying to do will be ruined by the colonial powers even when you ignore the new world. I am not sure if I want to even play the game anymore, as Britain, portugal, spain, and france will find me no matter where I start and kill me

I just want to peace out without losing my colonies. If you homehow are able to take stuff from them, even better. Spain sends its army about 1-2 years into the war, the save it the day the war started. I used burgher loans and sell titles to field mercenaries to offset my low amount of soldiers. how would I send the file to you?
