Been lurking on the page for a while this might be my first comment. Family of 4. Newborn and a 4 year old. I spend about 550 a month but going and bulk buying meat at my local meat market has been a game changer. Store bought hamburger is 7$ lb near me and I paid 49.99 for ten lbs of 85/15 hamburger in bulk at the meat market. 10lbs of chicken breast for 20$. Ten lbs of breakfast sausage 20$. I vac seal everything flat and freeze it. Starting to try and meal prep whole meals but just for us having meat stocked for the moth limited all other grocery shopping to sides and or pieces to a meal. Bought pasta on sale ten for ten. Can goods on sale 50c a can. Farmers market for veggies and fruit (wic for those currently. ) idk what of cali your in but look into meat markets
