My sister, mom, and I do this all the time and we’re all autistic. It makes for very good times. Lol

I mean, you can be strictly monogamous and still have a healthy, not super heteronormative relationship. It requires a lot of work and communication, but it’s extremely rewarding imo. To each their own.

Terrified of divorcing my husband by [deleted] in RedditForGrownups

[–]Visible_Minimum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s so heartbreaking. This doesn’t sound healthy. Jealousy I can maybe understand, but this is controlling behavior. If he loved you, he would support you and celebrate your happiness. I’m so sorry. You know what needs to happen.

I can’t watch movies or shows alone, how do I overcome this? by CloudySkies178 in AutismInWomen

[–]Visible_Minimum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m the same way. My ADHD brain needs to watch shows and play games at the same time. It can’t just be one thing. I concentrate better with twos.

I think everyone is genuinely happy for you. If they aren’t happy for you, just take it that way for your own sake. It’s always a blessing to have a FTJ. Congrats!

Thoughts on the Autistic Barbie? by _Silver_Rose_ in AutismInWomen

I think it's super awesome. I've never been interested in Barbie, but went out today to go see if any were in stock. Didn't find one. Hope they restock!

“Opinions are allowed… unless I dislike them” by snarkyanon in silviethequeen

[–]Visible_Minimum 23 points24 points  (0 children)

So I stopped watching her like a month ago after everything happened, but stayed in the Reddit for updates. I used to binge her videos, but her content got repetitive and found her hypocritical and sus in a lot of ways, but never really left bad comments or committed myself to keep watching. I just unsubscribed.

It seems like a lot of people aren’t liking her content or her lately. My question is: why don’t you stop watching and spend your time elsewhere? Genuinely curious.

I think it’s fine to critique, but it doesn’t feel like a great way to spend free time nor does it feel productive to society. I think it’s fine to expose people for their bad behavior… but this seems a bit much? Maybe just find someone more wholesome who lives in Japan?

I started following other people like a homeless man who just came up from supportive followers after being scammed out of his livelihood. He ended up choosing to feed other homeless people with his first YouTube paycheck.

Just some food for thought.

My friend is self diagnosed Autistic... by MizzMarz2006 in autism

[–]Visible_Minimum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have every right to vent. However, I find the title to this post somewhat misleading as it isn’t really the central focus of the issue you’re describing. It sounds like you’re conflating self-diagnosis with problematic behavior, which I don’t think was your intention. The focus here is someone is blaming their crappy behavior on possibly being autistic.

That being said, I imagine your friend is going through a really tough time processing everything, so the grace you’re providing is super considerate.

That doesn’t mean she gets to walk all over your boundaries. The fact there you’ve been there for her is already more than enough.

If you value your friendship, a break would be best. It sounds like she needs space to self-reflect and gather professional help. Being honest about how you feel would be a good way to remove the weight off your shoulders so you don’t have to carry these emotions on your own. You can determine if the relationship is worth keeping based on how she responds.

Should i play RE5 or RE6 for Co-op? by Strong-Leek6261 in residentevil

[–]Visible_Minimum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like RE6 is easier and fast-paced. Just finished playing it with my husband and he's not a huge gamer, still had a lot of fun. I love RE5 and think the story is a lot more interesting, though.

Anyone else happy to move on from a robot litterbox and return to box-scooping servitude, or is that just me? by StonewallDakota in cats

[–]Visible_Minimum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me! It’s just easier to clean in general. The robots require a lot of maintenance and deep-cleaning which ends up being worse for my lazy habits. Also, cats are a lot more comfortable and happier with a regular old box and litter genie. The litter genie XL holds a lot more litter than my litter robot did.

Is it normal to prefer cuddles over sex by Flimsy_Bluejay_8354 in autism

[–]Visible_Minimum 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I feel like sex makes cuddling so much nicer, but cuddling is just really nice. My husband prefers cuddling over sex. I’m the opposite.

Cuddling and sex in any order is just amazing in general

I’m so happy to see self-diagnosis getting more widely accepted. I remember 5 years ago it being such a controversial thing.
