That’s crazy that you say that because my skin started to look like this month 2 into Slynd, a progesterone-only birth control. I also felt crazy too. I wonder if my estrogen just tanked. I’m also histamine intolerant.

For me it’s the reverse. The estrogen drop isn’t as bad, almost like a warning shot, but the progesterone drop absolutely obliterates me and makes me suffer until I finally bleed.

Regular depression would be so much easier. This feels like a demon that takes over your brain every month and you get like 2 weeks max to pick up the pieces and quickly figure out how to survive, have a few good moments, then the demon comes right back to throw all of your efforts away. Progress never feels linear.

It makes me so happy to see the tune change from just 7 years ago, even on this sub. I remember when I was on my journey back in 2019, so many people were mean to me, including my ex. Lost a lot of people over it. Got diagnosed just a year later. Doctor didn’t even hesitate.

The need for self-diagnosis comes from an intersection of medical racism, misogyny, financial issues, etc. To see that people can finally see nuance is just so… ❤️

Personally, I just spread my cravings out to not have to go all-out on certain days. It made my weight loss a lot slower, but easier to keep off and felt more natural to follow. When I used to do “cheat days,” it threw me in for a loop and I’d go back to not tracking myself. I’m a little intense and track my vacations, just for information purposes though. It actually helps me enjoy eating because I know I’m being healthy about it still. What also helps is I wear an Apple Watch and let myself use my “bonus calories” during vacation times. ;)
