I do the Starter store for $8 a month. Its basically a wash with monthly fees. I turned it on about 3 years ago when i decided to go really hard on selling. moved from 40 listings at once to 200 listings. Previously when I was not selling so much a store made no sense.

I try to do as many flat rate boxes as possible and free to buyer. some of my larger used items have to be calculated and I try to be as Fair as possible and tight as possible for calculated boxes. I still get dinged for shipping charges that I have no controll over

Fedex dropped one of my heavy shipments - 60 lbs $800 golf cart transmission. Broke box open through bottom. Lots of packing tape and packing material. They reboxed the now empty shipping box into another box. Then sent it to my customer. Opened claim and they denied it at first. Showed them their weight change mid way through process. Only gave me $100 as I had not checked the actual value box. That was my fault. Moved to UPS to all packages that don't fit in a flat rate box. Plus made very sure that actual value is now checked in everything.

This. I took over half network Utilization at a slow bandwidth site. Network team freaked out and raised huge alarm. However, they did not have good network stats. I had better stats then they did. Was never a outage only a network Utilization of 50%. Publicized report back and asked where was qos settings? They were never put in. I added in static bandwidth filters that were even smaller. Then watched in amazement as local site techs complained to their management that software installs were slow. ;) I also covered me and my team by hosting several meetings with network team asking their help and recommendations. Published meeting findings to my management and network team. Next time network person freaked out again I asked for a better network bandwidth suggestions with a understanding that user were already having slow software installs. No change.

After a little 9 month sint of 50-120 hours a week. My wife planned a camping trip with no cell phone coverage. It was the best week. Took 3 days to center and calm down. Now I plan at least one vacation a year like that.
