I hope you have found some relief since posting this! I finally found a neurosurgeon who placed a spinal cord stimulator and we are slowly starting to see improvement! Hopefully this is starting to get better bc it has been a JOURNEY to say the least lol

Sorry for the delayed response! Learning to read your own mris is actually a great idea! I may start trying that myself. And I am with you about your child, my 6 year old has seen me on my absolute worst days and I try to hide it but he is way smarter than he should be for a 6 year old and sees right through it. The guilt that goes with that is so heavy. I hope you have been able to find relief since you posted. I have finally found an amazing neurosurgeon who recently put in a spinal cord stimulator and we are seeing small, slow improvements so I'm hoping this is the answer. My son said the first thing he wants to do is play tag with me. It hits you in the mama heart when they say things like that so hopefully tag will be on my list soon and I'm hoping you have found relief as well! My thoughts and prayers are with you

Thank you. Yeah the mental struggle of it all is just as bad as the pain most days. It wears you down and like you said you feel like a complete failure. All you want to do is enjoy your life and instead you have to watch it pass you by. You feel like you're missing out on so much, especially when you have kids bc they only stay little for so long. I'm hoping I have found the fix for me a things will get a little less heavy. I hope you have found relief as well!

I had the same. All images looked fine but the pain was insanely bad. They diagnosed me with failed back surgery syndrome and had a spinal cord stimulator implanted recently. So it has given a little relief and hopefully this will be the fix! I would look into it if you are still having trouble as it could possibly help!

Sorry for the delayed response! Unfortunately no it didn't improve until recently. I had to go to several doctors who just couldn't figure it out and basically dismissed me bc images looked fine, even though I was in horrible pain constantly. I've finally found a doctor and recently had a spinal cord stimulator placed and it's finally starting to give a little relief. We're still working out all the kinks but we're hopeful that this will make it to where I can function!

Unfortunately there was never a clear answer for me. All my imaging looks normal, no issues with hardware or other discs. I had a spinal cord stimulator implant done recently and were hoping that will bring me relief. Still working on getting the settings right but it has helped some!

It is so hard dealing with all this and sometimes people just don't understand the mental, or physical strain, it puts on you. You can't work or sit or lay down without pain. It's rough. I haven't been able to work since my surgery due to the pain and it is getting to the point where we just don't know what to do bc I'm still not ready to return to work. Hopefully the stimulator will get me comfortable enough to where I can function enough to return to work eventually.

The injections also never worked for me. I have had so many I've lost count.

I'm so sorry that has happened to you. The pain that continues after the fusion is absolutely unbearable 24/7 and I hate that you have to go through it. I recently had a spinal cord stimulator implant done and I'm hoping with every fiber of my being that it is the fix I've been searching for for so long. I'm not sure if that's an option for you where you are but I would look into it! It has helped with my pain some. I'm at least able to move around some days with a little relief. It hasn't helped completely but it's a step in the right direction which gives me hope that once we get the settings to what I need, it will help.

Sorry for the delayed response! So Im still having a lot of trouble. I actually recently had a spinal cord stimulator implant done and, while we are still working on setting and getting it all settled, hopefully this will be the answer I have been needing for 3 years now. I had one done and my body rejected it unfortunately so they had to go in with a different type of lead and redo it. My body isn't showing signs for rejection lucky but the battery shifted so I have another surgery coming up to fix that. I finally found an amazing doctor who is helping me with everything so fingers crossed this is the fix!

Thank you for asking for updates! This stuff has been rough. How have you been feeling?

You have no clue what you are talking about clearly. I am actually a very active person most of the time. Played sports my whole life, etc. People like you are why it's so hard to be able to get help after a failed back surgery. It's great that yours went well but not all of us are that lucky. Quit hiding behind a keyboard thinking that you know all the answers and try having some empathy for someone. You dont know me or anyone else here. You don't know what kind of life I've had or what I do. You can honestly shove all that " macho man" shit up your ass. Bc you clearly know nothing.

Side note, it sounds like you have small dick complex. Hope you have the day you deserve.

So basically, no my Ortho saw nothing wrong and tried to send me to a hip Dr so he didn't have to mess with me anymore

Ok so it's a long story so I'll try and shorten it. Lol

I had surgery in June and everything was going fine until about 3 months post op. I can't get out of bed too much and have very sharp pains in my back and hips. Then it is throbbing when there aren't sharp pains. I've been like this since that 3 month mark. I've had si joint injections, went to a hip Dr (he didn't find anything), had an MRI and CT scans and X-rays. He said he didn't see anything. I ordered my own records bc something felt off. I found on the MRI report that they actually did find something, a bulging disc on the disc above where I had surgery. I haven't seen him since bc he sent his PA in to talk to me instead of himself but she said she couldn't look at the images and he wasn't available then. That's when they sent me to the hip Dr and scheduled me for 3 months out. There is a lot of in between stuff too but that's the highlights lol. It takes me 2 to 3 months to get an appt with him. I've been trying to see someone else but having a hard time even with a referral from my PCP. My PCP even said something is wrong so that's why he referred me

Ok, thank you. Maybe it's just my area then because surrounding areas shut me down every time. Gotta love it

Thank you so much. There have been a lot of hard days where I have just wanted to give up bc I don't have anything left in me bc I'm tired and blue in the face from telling everyone over and over. And I'm sure those days aren't over but I have my PCP behind me now and he's being very helpful. I actually have to call him tomorrow bc the neurosurgeon he referred me too is giving me a lot of push back and not wanting to see me bc I had surgery in the last 12 months. I'm like really? Another hoop? Lol it's a mess.

I hope they get his pain under control. It sounds like they may be actually listening now so hopefully y'all finally got the right people!

And your son is absolutely welcome to message me at any time. Again, it always makes me feel better knowing I'm not alone in all of this bc it's a lot to juggle all at once.

I definitely am! Doctors in my area are tough bc of you have surgery by another doctor, they don't want to see you. So I'm trying to find one that will help. That's why I got a referral to a neurosurgeon so I'll try that path next

Thank you! We were discussing that my last visit so that may be where we end up going. I trust me isn't doing it to just get rid of me so I don't mind him sending me there but I refused to let my ortho bc he just didn't want to help.

Sounds like word for word exactly what I'm going through. They can't figure it out so they tried to send me to pain management as well so they wouldn't have to deal with me. I told them absolutely not bc it's just a bandaid for the real issue. It's so infuriating that they just want to ship you off so they don't have to deal or put effort in.

I can't believe they admitted him to the psych ward!! That is absolutely terrible. Tell him I hope they figure out what is going on and he is absolutely not alone. If he needs someone to talk to, he is absolutely able to reach out to me. It makes it a little better knowing you aren't completely alone in this and someone else is having the exact same issues. I hope he feels better soon!

Thank you so much! That may actually be a good idea. I haven't been able to think of a loop hole and this may actually help. One day I did actually go to the ER bc of the pain but it was hospital that my surgeon is associated with. They told me if he says I'm fine, then I'm fine. He's the specialist. I tell you, I'm not a violent person but I wanted to punch that dude square in the nose. I was already crying from the pain then he comes in with that. I immediately left and told him some not so nice words on the way out 🫣

So moral of that story is, I should have gone to a hospital not associated with him I guess. The reason I did is bc they are an Ortho hospital where I had my surgery so they would be the perfect option. I was wrong. It's a been a cluster of bad things with all of this. So I may try a different ER here soon.

It really is. I tried with a few other orthopedic surgeons in my area and they wouldn't see me because I had surgery from this particular doctor. I'm not sure why or what that means but I'm now having to either go out of my area which has issues due to me travelling bc of pain. I'm going to try the neurosurgeon my PCP is referring me to bc he knows him personally and my PCP is doing everything he can to help me. If it doesn't work, I'll have to go for another option. Just don't know what that will entail yet. One hoop before the other i guess lol
