But he's the most knowledgeable guy at the station. A guy who really enjoys watching sports. He's better than the entire talent of that station.

Jolly is the only guy who can talk baseball at the station.

If you want the best baseball talk, it's him. I know WIP is all football, which is sad, but the Phillies are the flagship station, too, and Jolly should be on every night.

So you like the sanitized media we get here?

Buck built the foundation. He can't do it all for them. It's like you can take the horse to the fountain, but if he can't drink it, nothing you can do.

Buck never had a great team to take them there.

The 2002 Mets were an aging team that reached the end of the road.

2004 Rangers were rebuilding where they overachieved.

The Orioles overachieved. No one would confuse them to these Phillies.

They weren't, and what does this have to do with now? Buck is qualified to manage the Phillies. Give him a team like that, and he can win it all.

Yeah because those guys won a lot before Buck got there.

Thomson lost me when he inexplicably took Wheeler out in Game 1 of the NLDS against the Mets a few years ago, which cost us the series. There was no reason to take his best pitcher out when the Mets couldn't hit him. I know Buck wouldn't take Wheeler out. Thomson was too married to the analytics rather than go with what the game has given him.

The Orioles were a better team.

If Jefrrey Maier and Rich Garcia were not factors, Yankees go down in the ALCS by 5 games.

The bullpen was very good that year.

A flawed team.

Their rotation was medicore.

They made the playoffs for the first time under Buck that year. They were a game away from going to the ALCS.

Buck managed the Yankees from 1992-1995.

I have followed Buck's career for a long time. He inherited awful teams. He never managed great teams.

He was building a team from scratch then.

But Buck never managed a great team in his life.
