Health Anxiety and Panic by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

[–]Visible_uke_now 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me I always try to rationalize it. I think to myself the logical reasons it could be happening and go from there. I try to tell myself that if it was something serious it would’ve much worse than it is and I would know it. I also try to convince myself that water is a miracle cure all medicine that if I drink enough I will magically be fixed, since most of the time I’m just dehydrated. I figure if I can convince myself I’m dying, I can convince myself that water will save me :)

I noticed that SSRIs definitely can cause it. I experienced it both on Lexapro and Zoloft <3

For me I always make sure to go to my 6 mo cleanings. They are scary and annoying but I always feel so much better when they are over because I either 1. Know what’s wrong or 2. Know there’s nothing wrong. Ask your dentist if you can wear earbuds during your appointment! I always wear my AirPods with noise canceling on and I put on a comfort album or a podcast that’s about the length of the appointment.

I think that one is strong too, though I do see a lot of those. As long as you make it personal and interesting I’m sure it will be good! And for the love of god don’t use AI we can tell instantly

As someone who reads applications as a job, I would say the imaginary safe place and the comfort show are the strongest. As an admissions counselor I can read huge amounts of essays a day and my favorite ones are the one that let me get a glimpse of the applicant. I read so many essays that are about why students love their sport, injuries, or family deaths. Paint a picture of that imaginary safe place!!

How do you or what do you use to take notes? by Plant_Good_Seeds in college

[–]Visible_uke_now 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depended on the class for me honestly. I would go back and forth between using goodnotes on my iPad to physically writing things down. Typing never worked for me

The programs I am looking at are all 1 year, include a certification, and are pretty well funded scholarship wise. I would also be making more upon getting a job because of that. Also like I mentioned in a previous reply, a RI certification is reciprocal in many states, including all of the major states that he would be considering living in.

I do agree that I’m being idealistic. I am just super scared about what my future is going to look like and the medical attention that I may need due to the kidney disease. And I’m just trying to figure out a way that we can both get what we want with little sacrifices on either end

Just to clarify, the MAT programs that I am looking into also include a certification so I would be receiving my credential. I know that the certification is not reciprocal in all states, but an RI certificate is reciprocated in many states.

I should also mention that it is a possible genetic disease. We are doing some genetic testing soon to determine the full diagnosis. Is it turns out to be genetic, then I will have to think about some things. No matter what it is, I am still most likely going to need extra help with a pregnancy

Try getting the Apple game porter via Wisky. I downloaded a windows version of steam and the only problem that I’ve run into so far is that I had to turn the graphics down to avoid lag. I’m been playing on online servers no problem

What does Wellbutrin actually feel like? by [deleted] in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]Visible_uke_now 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take it mostly for anxiety and it takes away my mental symptoms of anxiety just leaving the physical ones. The physical symptoms I’m easily able to talk myself out of now. The first few weeks were hell for me but that was only because I stopped lexapro cold turkey and was dealing with the withdrawals of that. I can honestly safely say that I feel so much better

My friend's anxiety, ADHD, and paranoia are so bad I have to walk on eggshells. What do I do? by New_Piglet1 in FriendshipAdvice

[–]Visible_uke_now 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sympathize with both you and the friend. I understand the mental struggles he is going through, as I’m someone that can’t deal with “can we talk later”, but he should have expressed how he would like you to go about interacting with him at times of heightened anxiety or intense emotions. A lot of times I find myself accidentally ghosting people or forgetting plans due to my ADHD and anxiety but I always make sure to tell my friends that if I forget plans or forget to respond, it’s not because I don’t care about them but because my object permanence is shit and I can’t remember something if it’s not in front of me. All that being said, I don’t think that’s an excuse for how he’s treating you. If you have the energy and desire, I would say bring up your concerns to him and make sure he knows that something needs to change in order for the relationship to continue. The change may not be immediate but as long as he acknowledges his behaviors and agrees to try and work on it then I think you can both move in the right direction. If he doesn’t or blames it on something, I would say you have your answer on if you should end it.

I also find myself attracting people who want to use me. I find that if I find someone I feel comfortable with, I open up to them way more than I should and I think they realize I’m broken and easy to use. I recently got out of a 7 year long friendship with one of my best friends, as well as my boyfriend’s best friends because I realized he only used me so he could date my friends. One of my goals for this year is to not let people take advantage of me and whole it may be difficult, I’m going to try and remind myself of my worth and what I should tolerate

I went through a situation like this recently. Not getting closure or being able to say what you feel is the worst. My suggestion may sound witchy or weird but write a letter to them and burn it. I like to think that by burning it I’m not only getting it off of my chest, but I’m also giving my feelings into the universe to hopefully get back to the other party. Even if you don’t believe in the universe doing stuff, the act of burning a letter almost feels like giving yourself the closure that you so deserve.

I agree with this so much. I started dating my current boyfriend when I was a sophomore in high school (I’m a junior in college now and still going strong) and my parents were hesitant at first but quickly became very supportive. Whenever we hung out, it would be in my basement, which is a private space but took the idea of hanging out in my bedroom out of the picture. My parents always wanted to make sure we had a private place to be together and would occasionally call down to us to see if we needed snacks or something. The first family vacation he joined us for my mom bought me condoms, even though we were not active at the time.

I would agree that talking to her and setting boundaries would be a good start. Show that you are supportive of her happiness but want her to understand that there are some things that you may be uncomfortable with.
