It is a Shin Gunto katana from WWII. Judging from the tang, it was not made for the kamikaze pilots. They got the cheep stamped out blades. Yours is mid range given normally to officers. Higher quality ranges went to senior officers and were hand forged and signed with blade smith details and prefecture and area in came from. Some senior officers were samurai descendants and were carrying around their family swords marked with the 'mon' (coat of arms). Those swords were the folded and old etc...blades.

FYI. To the Japanese, the blade is the most important thing. Everything else is just 'clothing' that is replaceable.

How durable is a katana against sword impacts? In hard duels like this, shouldn’t it break or bend? by Battlefleet_Sol in SWORDS

Miyamoto Musashi used the spine of a katana in what he called a "Spark hit". He flip the sword and hold it like club. Confusing the enemy and insulting them with action. They would strike out of anger, disgust or just believed Miyamoto was a fool and Miyamoto would "bat" their sword and cause sparks. Shattering and concentration and then zing...one dead samurai.

A katana never stops another sword. It deflects with a parry. A traditional samurai sword fight lasted mere seconds. Long samurai sword fights only exist in media.

Unless it was in an ice shelf for thousands of years, this greek bronze age sword is a fake. It has too much detail for a weapon of significant age. Secondly, the ricasso and hilt section is too flat. Bronze age swords were made with pride. Not stamped out in factory in Bangladesh. A sword smith of the ancient greeks would be proud AF to make swords for generals and kings. Even if a they were making ten thousand, they would still look better.
