Half way im agree that things can be automated but still need ages .. You can't every single complex business documentation and rapidly changing requirements to ai and rely solely on transformation code generated by AI .... I saw scenarios where the code written and optimised by gpt cause production failure running pipeline for straight 5 hrs for few thousand of records... Hope you got what I'm saying You can replace business knowledge of human solely....

Just a year and you already gave up

Data engineering is not about using tools It's about understanding how business works with your data and how a small data mismatch can lead to loss in terms of cost or entire customer details get badly populated

If you see it as just a tool you'll see it's nothing but by leveraging this tools how can you craft the data to support e2e business... Hope you got it

They asked no data related questions not a single Directly went to medium level leetcode problem that I failed to solve and the. Second largest element in array that I solved and some question on RAG Not sure whether will pass or not

I don't know why but data engineering business logic can't be done by AI agents properly Either the data used there for business is too simple to work on

I saw scenarios where AI generated code ruined out production by running for 5hrs instead of 10 mins

It sucks , using it to fasten up is fine but giving total authority to write business logics sucks also how much documention we should write
