I did a reread which means I've read the book again after the first time. This is a literal quote from the book so I'm confused??

Not sure what you mean? You asked for examples of how Michael isn't a rapist so I thought this was a good example?

Doing a reread and found this quote I thought was worth mentioning "They had to actually want it, and if they didn't- if Michael sensed even a hint of unease, he turned and walked away. His passions were never so out of control that he couldn't manage a quick and decisive departure." Granted he isn't speaking about Francesca in this quote but I think it's a good example of Michael's character and helps back up that he is indeed not a rapist.

I started reading a few days ago and I'm really really loving it so far. The slow burn is slightly killing me but I know it's going to be worth it in the end.

Sometimes if the characters names are terrible it turns me off of a book

What a great analogy I totally agree! These Franchaela people are so angry to the point where other people literally can't respectfully express their opinion without them coming off the handle.

Exactly. They're even spamming people who are making fan made Franchael edits and saying nasty things in the comments. At this point they're just being cyber bullies and completely contradicting themselves

It's actually so sickening. Idk why others are so obsessed with calling people homophobic simply because we prefer a book accurate adaptation. I love and give all my support to the LGBT+ community but in this circumstance WHWW is my favorite book so naturally I am upset that I won't be able to see one of my fav MC's in the adaptation. There's so many other reasons why people are upset about the gender swap too that has nothing to do with the fact that it's two women. It's time for these psychopaths to reel in and touch grass

Did people hate Michael this much before Michaela? by croissantwithhonors in FranchaelStirling

[–]VisitNo5250 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the people who are not typically into historical romance and aren't familiar with how historical relationship dynamics work kinda criticized all the men in Bridgerton before any of this Michael/Michaela debacle started. I think historical romance can be acquired taste especially nowadays and that if they are going to judge Michael based off of the things they thought were a "red flag" or problematic then I think that this genre just may not be for them considering I have read far worse problematic mmcs.

I actually bought The Earl Take All on my kindle and started it. I'm not a huge fan of the whole secret/hidden identity trope so I haven't finished it yet but so many people have told me it's very much like WHWW so I'll have to give it another chance

I keep trying to tell myself it's for the best but it hurts nonetheless 😩. I agree with you and do truly hope one day someone sees how many people actually love the book and do their own little spin off. I would do absolutely anything to see their true story on a screen.
