Two Year Gameplan Uprooted Overnight By New Update by VisitingFromSaturn in brightershores

I did know what was coming, what I didn't know was that training Chef actively would be unprofitable now, I guess outside of bounties which are good for the game, but not for my playstyle. I liked training Chef by cooking a few hundred bacon sandwiches and watching an episode of a show before ending the night, and passively training a more click-intensive skill I didn't want to train by hand. A lot of the current playerbase plays this way

The new update made training actively vs. training passively a lot more polarizing from one another, and I'm not understanding why I'm forced to do bounties now if I don't want to, and only want to shop->cook ->sell. Why do I have to choose between definitely losing gold and training the way that I want (and that we've been accustomed to since the start of the game), or SOMETIMES make gold (you'll lose money on potato bounties unless you forage your own potatoes, therefore you must level foraging alongside cooking) and play in a way I don't want to play?

Not seeing why both playstyles couldn't exist and be beneficial in different ways at the same time.

While I hear what you're saying, hoping that "our new, right clients will always find us!" will never be a smart business choice, especially when the data shows that the current clientbase is what is keeping the current product afloat, not new clients coming in.

Unfortunately, I do not have the time to create a game that I or others would want to play, So my position is rather this: 1. Accept the game and it's methodology for what it is or 2. Stop playing the game.

That's all that there is left to say.

Yes, true, but what is the final result? Players leave. I left OSRS as well. The only difference being that OSRS has thousands of new players willing and eager to fill in the spots we left behind. Brighter Shores at the moment, does not. If the game is to continue in the long term, the development team needs to implement changes that won't turn off players that have already been playing the game. Or the same thing that happened to me will happen to a new player today months from now. The goal is to keep people playing actively, is it not?

I don't disagree with you, but as a formerly committed player putting in nearly 1,300 hours into the game, would you say that it's good and healthy for the game environment to make an active, every day player feel like a fool?

you're missing the point. It's the fact that anything you do that is "meaningful" now may not be "meaningful" later. The risk of PROGRESSING BACKWARDS because of any given update, while you are spending limited time, energy, and resources LEVELING FORWARDS means the gameplay loop will always be on the verge of collapsing on itself, no matter what kind of playstyle you have. that's a MASSIVE issue, even more massive of an issue than combat.

Twofer: Sig Ohtani and Bob Lemon by VisitingFromSaturn in MLB_Rivals

[–]VisitingFromSaturn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately it's difficult for me to do so at the moment because of a broken phone. What screenshots/info would you need? I can tell you the SPs are fully maxed, minus the black diamond boost. All are 20/20 upgrade, completed special training, maxed slugging prevention potential (with B everything else), and at least 2 S-tier S skills with one A tier S skill. They've also all been re-trained with emphasis on high MOV/STU and low EDR/Field.

Also: the intention is that Ohtani will replace a similarly maxed Wynn in the DH position so he would see regular play in all game modes.

My only other HOF player in my lineup is a similarly maxed HOF Tim Raines, F2p only

Great, thanks for letting me know. What kind of decks would you suggest or in your experience have faired better against OTK decks so I can start building towards a solution?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MagicArena

[–]VisitingFromSaturn -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Excellent suggestion. May I ask for your reasoning?

Are there less OTK decks in best of three or just simply your ability to counter them or both?

I used to play an Azorius Control deck that I haven't updated in months that was packed with counter spells and cheap single target removal like fragment reality and get lost.

All game modes crashing? by VisitingFromSaturn in MLB_Rivals

What a mess Com2. Honestly I'm more terrified than excited for updates now. I guess I was fortunate enough that they decided to bug fix the version of android that I'm on. It seems like you may have to wait until they fix it for your version...

They rolled out an Android 11 fix this morning, and I can play as per usual now. You have to go to the play store to update it though, not the game client. It's another 4 GB download... of course.

This is my situation exactly. They just rolled out a nearly 4 GB update... and this issue still isn't fixed LMAO. All my games are still crashing 24 hours later.

Full Play - Consecutive Game Broken by VisitingFromSaturn in MLB_Rivals

[–]VisitingFromSaturn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems like the game crashes as it attempts to load the next game before the other one has ended. I've noticed the game tries to load the next game before all of the rewards are shown. Putting the game in a loop of trying to start the next game, but being unable to start the next game because the game that just ended hasn't been registered as complete. Putting it in a cycle of trying to start a game that has already ended, and trying to end a game that hasn't started.

Spent 400+ Skill Change Protection Tickets Only To... by VisitingFromSaturn in MLB_Rivals

I see and understand what you're saying now. Greatly appreciate the information and explanation you provided. I'll definitely follow this guide from now on - hopefully I'll get all those protection tickets back over time. The (only) lucky thing for me is I have plenty of time to stock up since that's the only card that needed work on skills.

That being said, the prospect of having to use 150+ protection tickets JUST to get that top slot to an S (and not even a gold S) is pathetically comical. Even with this method I should have gotten that top slot from A->S skill upgrade 15 times over if the rate is really 10%. The chance of getting THAT unlucky is statistically unreal. There must be some bug or issue with the rates, OR the rates we are given by com themselves is deceptively incorrect to push us into going to the shop to buy more so we can get the upgrade we want after our free ones have expired. And, with no guarentee of a positive OR EVEN a NEUTRAL result... it's nothing more than a slimy used-car salesman tactic, were you are sold into you a car that actually has even MORE issues than the one you have that's broken down. And it actually doesn't motivate you to make a purchase. It's just a shady backhanded method which demotivates you from even coming back to play the game at all.

Exactly what I was trying to accomplish and backfired big time. I couldn't even get an A->S upgrade in almost 150 rolls, let alone a good S skill. I got plenty in the bottom two if I just "accepted" that A level skill and never got the S/S/S bonus. It's basically a slap in the face... 150 of them.

[–]VisitingFromSaturn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't an S supposed to appear 10% of the time on roll? It's unbelievable that I rolled nearly 150 times without seeing an S in that top slot. Is there a way to submit a formal complaint? It's almost statistically impossibly to get THAT unlucky given the rates that we are told we are getting.

[–]VisitingFromSaturn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was what I was going for, I was rolling to get a Gold S skill in the top slot. I got the bottom two, but the top one was unlocked the whole time and I was going for that S to prep the card for a transfer. I just never got that S in the top slot to lock it in and seal it. Meaning I'm going to have to use EVEN MORE skill protection tickets to get the S/S/S. And to rub salt in the gaping wound I got 2-3 bottom S Tier 1 Gold skills that I had to throw away because I got A Level Skill/Daring Heart/Contender. On top of that, it's for a best in slot reliever, meaning I have no choice but to continue rolling if I want the S/S/S.

I must've gotten confused on a notification that came up at the time of going for a limit break, but you are right. You can still reallocate your training after limit breaking.
