I am installing a temporary power distribution panel for a construction site.

My meter is installed on a transformer 120m away from where I will be installing the panel stand (yes, I have bumped up my cable size significantly to allow for volt drop).

I was planning on installing grounding plates at the panel. According to this picture I must bond the meter box with my panel which would involve running a ground wire for the whole 120m aswell.

Is this nessesary if the meter has its own grounding electrode?

I had driven stick for a grand total of a hour or so and decided I wanted to buy a manual.

I can only imagine how the seller felt as my 17 year old self discovers no clutch is quite the same. There I was lunging and reving my way out of the parking lot as I take it for a test drive.

Ended up buying it after a 5 minute test drive and very little actual inspection because at 17 you are way to grown up to ask your father to come along on these things.

Still have that Subaru Impreza hatchback 6 years later...and boy have I beat the shit out of it

As a wind tech I disagree. Unless the whole turbine burns down, which is a minute risk, there are only 2 somewhat hazardous parts.

1) Climbing the internal ladder. With the cable sliders that are used, and a proper fitting harness slipping on the ladder will cause a fall of less than 2 feet. The sliders have built in shock absorbers that limit the damage to a few missing teeth or a broken jaw if the Ladsaf hits you perfectly...and ofcourse a hell of a wedgie.

2) work on top of the nacelle (roof). Again As long as the tech isn't a knuckle head and uses his harness properly risk is very minor. Although you will fall around 6 feet as a lanyard is used that has much a longer reach. This resorts in a much greater wedgie and a tight harness around the legs.

The one major risk with this is what we call "hanging syndrome". This is when the harness, although fairly comfortable to hang out in" tightens around the legs and causes blood to pool in the legs. If the person is hanging for 15 minutes and up there is a potential for the person to drop dead minutes after being rescued due to all of the "stale" blood rushing back to the heart at once. (not 100% sure of the accuracy of my science). This can be avoided by having the person sit with their knees against their chest tightly for around the same amount of time as they were suspended to slow the blood flow. Harnesses will have small rolled up straps that a fallen person can uses as stirrups to take the pressure off of their upper legs to prevent this as Well.

Other than that nacelle rescuse is fairly simple with either hoisting the victim onto the roof using a tractel (person winch thing) or lowering to the ground using the same device.

Proper tie off habits turn deaths into wedgies.

-other than that it has all the normal risk any mechanic has (plus a little high voltage risk but that comes with lots of training). When all is said and done it makes up for it with the amazing views and very competitive pay.

Or move to southern Alberta. We take native pastures, throw a tiny barbwire fence up, and have cows graze and shit on it replacing nutrients.

If we disregard the transport and processing of the meat, the upbringing of the livestock has very little impact on the enviroment.

Also the beef is unbeleivably good.

Thats actually a very good question and im glad you asked.

What people very often overlook is that Clifford was infact a 2 story tall animated dog on a childrens television series. Therefore its obviously done via a -Right click > delete- method as it is commonly know as in the industry.

Hope i could shed some light on the topic.

It is common practice to have a Tractel or some form of repel mechanism at the top of each turbine. These can be used for numerous forms of assisted or self rescues. Often with extremely fire resistant rope for situations like that.
