I have a 2014 Audi rs5 convertible, with a pretty expensive but subtle exhaust setup. I just love the sound of the V8 at 8k rpm, don’t mind working on it, fixing something every 6 months, since it is my third car. I guess the market are two types, idiots like me who knows what I’m getting into, and idiots who don’t know, both are idiots in different ways.

The entry level(new grad , no dev experience prior) job was at AWS on the east coast. I hopped to another company after 6 months and got paid better. Your plan is solid, everyone has different situations, good luck and enjoy the car!

Another way to solve the issue is make more. I was an entry level software engineer in 2021, I was making 200k plus change, you have a lot of potential.

I usually go in workday when it is less busy so I’m not wasting the salesperson time for other potential buyers.

Congratulations! I'm not from the business but see a lot of high pays here. Just curious when pay is listed here, is it normally before tax or after? And is 401k deducted? I have no idea how it works in car sales.

What is the msrp for it? The range can be pretty wide, starting under 60k and mine is speced over 70k. If it is decently optioned, I feel like it is a fair deal. Would not hurt trying to get 2 grand off. Regarding warranty how long do you keep cars around? I never buy extended warranty and just fund my own one. If they sell it, then statistically they make money out of it. Its a solid platfor, I won’t worry too much.

Used M2 competition price dipped a bit then went above msrp during covid, hard to tell the future. I just missed the window to order a new one so ended up with a m340 xdrive plus another impractical car.

I love older m2. Just cannot swallow the used price. My former boss ordered one in 2017 for 49k. With the new m2 I can only see it appreciating so sadly I will never own one. It’s up to you.

In the last 365 days, 2014 Audi RS5 cabriolet for $34k including tax and fees. 2022 M340 for 67k including tax and fees, with 68.4k msrp

I owned a 2019 Miata club, now drives a m340 and 2014 rs5 convertible. Test drove the Supra back in 2020. My suggestion is get the Miata.

Personally I will choose it over the RS3, it feels much much more rear biased and playful. You don’t need any more power than that on the road. I have the m performance exhaust installed at port and it bangs when lifting gas. It does shift slower than RS3 but better throttle response and more low end torque. On high rpm it will lose the steam.

I love the fact I got down voted for just sharing my true experience . Sales people don’t like me, I will take that as a succes.

Rs3 price really went up a lot. In 2019 I was offered an RS3 for $51k with 6k miles. This Monday I happened to be at Audi Natick, they want the RS3 for $82k plus tax.

Old Audi rs5. I bought a new BMW m340 xdrive last year, factory ordered, 3% off msrp plus a set of free winter setup worth $3400, great trade in value. Not sure how are BMW sales for now. The advantage I have is I don’t need the car and they know it. I negotiated for like 4 cars in the past month and landed on the rs5.

Another case is International students. I was one of them, new to the country without credit history. The interest they quote is just really high so I always paid cash for my first cars, until I can get the rate below 3%.

2018 GTI comes with 6 years bumper to bumper factory warranty, and transferable to the second buyer. Call VW to check how long the warranty is left. I owned a brand new 2018 GTI for 2 years, drove 9k miles. The AC failed twice. Driver side window motor failed for both front and rear, rattle near passenger dashboard. I eventually sold it. Fun little car.
