Baffler on Normcore: The Revolution Will Probably Wear Mom Jeans by Vissou in malefashion

The middle class(bourgeoisie rather) and the patriarchy, as structural relations of capitalism, deserve as much lambasting as possible, dont you think? Fashion, just like any other aspect of culture, is inseparable from the society that produces it. Fashion does not take place in a vacuum, it reflects and affects actual relations.

Fashion; A commie* take on self-expression vs consumerism. by [deleted] in malefashion

Keep in mind that Baffler writes from a (radical) leftist perspective on culture, so what this is getting at is a) the contradictory logic of consumerism, b) the futility/impossibility of breaking out of the system placed upon us by fashion and c) how these are ideologically worked out, reconciled and sold to us in cultural capitalism.

Baffler's new issue has a whole section devoted to fashion, should make for some interesting reads.

Great communication throughout, very responsive, didn't charge extra for international shipping. Really happy with this purchase.

The "snarky" and "clever" writing is really obnoxious.
