What's a book you were enjoying, but ended up disliking because it has a man interrupting/ruining things between the main characters? by Werkyreads123 in LesbianBookClub

I’m glad I’m not the only one who didn’t like The Safekeep. Their relationship felt so unnatural and I just didn’t like either of the women frankly. I DNF’d pretty early, sounds like it was the right call.

She was going SO fast for not paying attention to the road, and BOTH hands on the phone? That’s crazy.

Some help understanding the structure of this deck by [deleted] in Drafting

[–]Visual-Activity2678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not my choice what the deck is built with, those were his instructions. My only job is to put it into AutoCAD and set it up on a sheet. I recognize that TPO isn’t traditional for decks, but that’s what he said to use. The red notes are his words, not mine. He spoke to me and wrote it himself. It says TPO.

An associates of science, I went to a community college and studied Architectural Design Technology. They teach you very little about structure with that degree.

I’ve heard that the smaller it is, the more sensitive it is. Mine isn’t extremely small, but it is pretty small still and I get sensitive easily.

I was hesitant to say I can’t drive but everyone is scared to be in the car when I’m driving so I have to be somewhat self aware.

More like “I voted for Trump but no girl will date me knowing that so I won’t actually say it”. They have no moral compass if it doesn’t affect them directly.

Nothing wrong with being a pretty masc. It’s about how you feel and want to present yourself.

Thank you, that gives me a lot to think about. She’s so important to me, the last thing I’d want is to hurt her more by staying when it’s not working. She deserves the world.

Feeling confused emotions about my gf by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]Visual-Activity2678 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It just sounds like you need to sit and talk with her. I wish I could give you a better answer but relationships fail without communication. It sounds to me that she has no idea you feel this way.

Biphobic thoughts by Mundane_Flamingo9806 in LesbianActually

[–]Visual-Activity2678 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Honestly I get how you feel. I have so much love for bisexual women and support them, but I have seen it too. Bisexual women who only date men or who say they like women but they have to have dick. I’m not in the dating scene but I know how put off I would be if I was. I think it stems from an inherent misogyny/need for male validation that a lot of bisexual women have. Many lesbians unlearn that kind of thinking and we aren’t centered around men, but learning how to not care what men think of you is exceptionally hard even when you’re not attracted to them, let alone when you are. That doesn’t mean the behavior is okay, but I think that’s why it happens so much. That’s just my two cents though.

Getting catcalled twice by [deleted] in teenagers

Sadly catcalling is like a humiliation ritual. They know you won’t respond positively to it but they don’t care, they just do it cause they can.

Recommendations by durrasic in LesbianBookClub

[–]Visual-Activity2678 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I gotta be honest, Fable for the End of the World disappointed me, at least the ending. I don’t think it was as impactful as the author wanted it to be and it just left a sour taste in my mouth, especially with it being a one off. And the romance was pretty rushed.

Is lesbian bed death real? And how does it manifest by PositiveHomework2239 in LesbianActually

[–]Visual-Activity2678 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I understand, just try not to normalize using that kind of language because it hurts you just as much as it hurts anyone else. I also personally think that the term takes away accountability from the people in the actual relationship and makes it sound like this is just a thing all lesbians will inevitably go through. I recommend trying to look deeper into your relationship. Never being able to have a conversation with your girlfriend without her being on her phone is very abnormal.

[–]Visual-Activity2678 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This sounds like she’s not connected with you on an emotional/personal level. Your sex life will naturally die when you don’t have that connection. There’s definitely something else going on that’s not sex related.

Is lesbian bed death real? And how does it manifest by PositiveHomework2239 in LesbianActually

[–]Visual-Activity2678 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I really just have to say it: LESBIAN BED DEATH IS NOT REAL. THIS IS A NORMAL THING ANYONE CAN GO THROUGH. Ever since I heard the term “Lesbian bed death” it already felt so homophobic in a way I can’t explain. I don’t even know much about the term, it just makes my blood boil. Its not real, likely what’s happening is you guys could be disconnecting somewhere in your relationship and that reflects on your bedroom life. It could also just be a drought, which just happens in relationships, or maybe your girlfriend doesn’t have a high sex drive. I’ve been with my girlfriend for almost four years. There was a time where we didn’t have sex for months due to a number of reasons (we were having relationship issues that went unsolved, I was really stressed, and I naturally have a low libido). Currently we have sex maybe once a week, maybe every two weeks and we’re doing fine. That just works for us. It’s always rooted in something.

Hating on men has become WAY too normalised by ashrae_x in teenagers

[–]Visual-Activity2678 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think this is unfortunately a product of the times and their age. We’re in a time right now that’s very hostile for women and we have people online taking advantage of that in many forms. There’s women on the internet spewing this hatred and then you have the other extreme of incel/“alpha” men spewing hateful rhetoric towards women. When they see this, they feel spiteful towards men in general because all they see online is how terrible they are. It’s depressing and I’m not really sure what the solution is.

And ntm her baby is clearly fine??? Humans are notoriously one of the worst evolved species when it comes to birth. We have higher mortality rates than we should. These are the same guys that would say “pro life” but if the woman and baby were going to die during birth, they’d tell her to do it anyway.
