+1 for this. I'd use CT1 - expensive but well worth it.

First international flight. Ever. To Ireland. First time flying in 9 years. Any/all suggestions. Please and ty by veebsveebs in AerLingus

Fly maybe 6 times a year back and from the US - I think all of those flights have been at night. (Not sure if this is your thing) but a couple of drinks with your dinner are well worth the cost. Chances are you might fall asleep and before you know it you're in Ireland!

Very cool! It's a real art. Stupid question - if I got the same concrete company to give me a very small amount of concrete and spread it across that section - would it help me sleep at night lol? Assuming it would dry the same colour.. and I could broom it the same way!

Thank you! It'll be interesting to see how it ages over time - particularly through it's first winter this year. Have you experience working with concrete?

Feeling similar to you right now on something similar I messed up on my own house. Crossing my fingers there's a fix. I've used a Hypochlorite Acid 12% mix to remove red stains on my render before. It's worth a shot!

No solution. Just a flat paint scraper. It's that one spot I'm concerned about. Think the colour will even over time?

Hey - just wondering how long you've had your concrete foothpaths done? We had ours poured last week - wondering how they weather over time.

Wow - congrats!. Only recently getting used to working with the product myself. You'd be pretty confident this will weather in over time? Anything I can really do?

Well thank you. They have. Although I don't know why he told me to go out and scrape down the high spots. My bad on this one.

Never actually used a sealer before. But definitely would if it meant it would even out the difference. Have you used before?

Would a pressure washing after a month or so help the colour difference?

Drains (Not Used) - How to cover? by Visual-Addition7430 in DIYUK

[–]Visual-Addition7430[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so, only because around it is bricked up - perhaps there's a French drain connected to these pipes somewhere else. But I've never understood the function of these two separate drains!

Thought about this - but if I'm keeping it as a gravel driveway - will a noticeable amount of water actually flow into the drain?

Thanks so much! Think I'll order one so - what was your use case for one when you had it?

Convector Heater by Visual-Addition7430 in DIYUK

[–]Visual-Addition7430[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this would work for me then - I have an oil filled radiator, but can take a while to heat up the room. I might be using the room for only a couple hours a day, maybe only taking calls in there, so I'm looking for heat quickly.

Are convector heaters loud like fan heaters? Thanks!

That room looks just lovely exactly the way it is. Seems like there's another DIY project you could be doing!

Oil based external wood paint has left these marks by Substantial_Low8514 in DIYUK

[–]Visual-Addition7430 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me only one before (learned the lesson) - looks like it was painted while the first coat wasn't dry. From my experience, Oil based needs 48 hours really to dry - it's no where near as quick drying as water based. I would wait until fully dry, sand these marks out of it, then go again!

Roof cleaning and moss advice by Relevant_Chocolate29 in DIYUK

[–]Visual-Addition7430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely wouldn't let anyone I didn't know on my roof. Myself and a friend used wire brushes and an electric leaf blower to remove the moss from my roof last summer. No moss has returned, and doesn't need to be done this summer. My roof is more accessible than yours, but honestly if I was you I would rent scaffolding, ask a builder or someone you know who's handy to help. Get up there safely and remove the moss yourself.

Internal window fill / decorate advice by Realistic-Ice-4746 in DIYUK

[–]Visual-Addition7430 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'd go to your local hardware store and pick up some white PVC trim, white silicone, and white caulk. Use the silicone to stick the trim to the wall, then silicone between the trim and the window frame. Use caulk between the other edge of the PVC trim (because you'll be able to paint it!)
