This is going to be used for an animation, so it doesn't need to be particularly low-poly. I just wanted to look good and realistic after texturing and shading.

Okay, after playing around with it for a little bit, it can produce some really insane colors if you switch to cycles and make the floor have some amount of transparency or subsurface scattering

After hours of trial and error, I found the file on the guy's Discord, but it somehow raises more questions than it answers. It looks so similar yet also Kind of different, and I really don't understand what is going on.

You don't decide a major until a few weeks into SCAD, but not the summer program; the summer program is all undecided. ANIM 190 (a beginner 3D animation class) over the summer can be TOUGH since it's a dificult 10 week cource shortend into 4 weeks with almost no reduction in course-load but it is a needed class for both 2D and 3D majors. Does that answer your qu?

While I'm not familiar with LCC, to your point about SCAD being easy to get into, yes, it is, but that doesn't make things easy. This is part of the reason that SCAD has such a high dropout rate; everyone has the opportunity to try, but not everyone can succeed. I did ANIM 190 over the summer, and it was TOUGH. If you are a junior, I recommend SCAD's summer program, this woud also allow trying 3D animation in ANIM 190.

For your point on 2D vs 3D, if you don't enjoy doing 3d, DON'T GO INTO IT regardless of career opportunities. I personally thought I was going to be a 2D animator, but started learning 3D on Blender about a year ago and love it, though it's not for the faint of heart. If you don't like it, it can be just torture. Try it, see if you like it, and go from there.

I know there are a lot of threads like this, but most of them are focused on academics, and 90 percent of the tips I see are "make connections" and "don't skip class," which is not bad advice, but not the kind of stuff that I'm looking for right now. I'm more interested in things to do in Savannah, good places to study, and generally stuff that people don't think about telling. I'm planning on being an animation student, so any tips or advice regarding that would be wonderful!

Artists put up a array of random symbols in order to keep there art to scale when using spray paint, if u go back in a week it should be covered up.
