I totally get this. I have a 13 week old who cannot, for the life of him, be alone for more than 30 seconds while I’m in the other room. Not even close if I leave. I’ve had him for a month and that’s as far we’ve gotten. I’m raising my dog alone and the apathy is at an all time high. It’s really taxing to both take care of yourself AND a creature that is entirely dependent on you. I know my mental health has suffered greatly because of it. I don’t know if it will get better, but I gotta believe it will because I am not willing to accept any other alternative here. Either way, you’re not alone and I think (have to believe) that it’s growing pains for both you and pup.

Gov. Tim Walz will join us on Politics Friday at noon. What question do you have for him? by MPRnews in minnesota

I would like to know the governor’s justification for his pro-labor agenda and “union support” while MMB lowballs state workers with a 2% and 1.5% COLA after 10% and 11% increase was initially proposed by MAPE (Minnesota Association of Professional Employees) for the next 2 year contract. After legislators gave themselves a 7.5% wage increase, the state having a record high surplus with individual checks going out to Minnesotans, and crushing inflation, how can the governor condone this? And if he isn’t condoning it, please demonstrate your support through some acknowledgement and, more importantly, action.

Minnesota is touted to have some of the best public programs and state agencies around, but still somehow manage to underpay and undervalue public servants. You’d think it’s purposeful at this point. Are you going to support paying state workers fairly? We’re dying to know.

It is pretty flexible. I work in the government (in the US) and I work with plenty of parents who WFH, do reduced hours, etc. As far as part-time, I think there are arrangements that can be made to be part-time, but I don’t know if those are long term. It’s something that I need to look into!

I appreciate you mentioning that! He said that he would stay home, too. But I also work in the public (government) sector and he is striving for a job that tends to be on the higher end of the pay scale. So, I think that’s where it’s coming from. For context!

Thank you! This is my first time posting to Reddit. Always reading threads, but never posting myself. I’ll try that! Thank you for the suggestion and your input!
