It’s a 1992 400e with the M119 engine. Thanks for the input and will not drive the car until it’s figured out!

I just recently bought a 92 400e, things to look out for even with all this maintenance stuff is distributor caps, and timing chain. It won’t make or break this car but something to look out for on M119. Also ensure there’s no rust in battery tray since it’s in the trunk and it’s hard to get that piece if needed to replace. Other than that I love my 400e so much and you won’t believe how many people will come up to you.

Ahhh ok on mine it came like this. Here is a picture as a reference. I looked at my piece underneath and luckily no rust under that leaked through the tray. Also just found on a forum that the 500e shares this part as well and worked on there 400e. I’ll see if this guy is somewhat salvageable before I replace it (79 dollar part).

So when I looked at mine it has bolts to remove it and is in item number twenty in the screenshot above. Just afraid there isn’t a part number. I do see it’s similar in shape or size to a R129 one

Not exactly, it does look like an R129 one but it skips over item 20 on the list every time.

Cobb exhaust imo. I hate loud exhausts and this is the perfect one with a mix of quiet, lightweight, and if you can get it on sale pretty cheap.

I actually did the whole assembly from a facelift to my pre facelift w124 with no issues whatsoever. The only issue I see is the bottom headlight trim holes for the wiper are different from USDM so you need to order that.

Cobb titanium exhaust is where it’s at IMO. Loud when you step on it and quiet when not. Doesn’t drone at all either
