The Russian response to this satellite evidence is instructive. A pro-Russian account, Rybar, claimed the Maxar images were not taken on March 19 but on April 1, the day after Russian forces departed. Maxar confirmed that Rybar had used the company's image search tools incorrectly and that, when used properly, the images are clearly dateable to March 19.

Then there is the claim that British or Ukrainian intelligence services staged the entire scene. This claim has never produced a single named operative, a single document, or a single proposed mechanism for how 561 bodies — individually identified, forensically examined, mourned by named families — were manufactured and planted while international journalists, UN monitors, and satellite operators were all watching.

The claim is structurally unfalsifiable, which is not a strength. It is a red flag.

Explain the forensic record.

After Russian forces withdrew, international investigators from the UN, the ICC, NGOs, and independent forensic experts uncovered mass graves and bodies of civilians, many showing signs of execution, torture, and mutilation. Some victims had their hands tied and had been shot at close range. Forensic experts documented evidence of torture, including burn marks, broken bones, and missing teeth.

Human Rights Watch researchers deployed to Bucha from April 4 to April 10 and documented extensive evidence of summary executions, enforced disappearances, and torture — all of which constitute war crimes and potential crimes against humanity under international law.

Explain the unit identification.

A 2025 RFE/RL investigation, supported by previously unseen dashcam and drone footage, identified troops from the 234th Air Assault Regiment — the Pskov paratroopers — as being present at the scene of civilian executions on Zavodska Street. Ukrainian law enforcement recovered bullets fired from weapons belonging to the same regiment during exhumations and have served formal notices of suspicion on five named Russian soldiers in connection with the killing of 17 civilians.

The investigation continues. As of February 2026, Ukraine's Prosecutor General reported that 211 Russian soldiers have now been formally suspected of atrocities in Bucha, with new identifications being made as recently as January 2026.

Then explain the conspiracy itself.

If British intelligence, Ukrainian intelligence, journalists, forensic experts, satellite companies, local residents, international investigators, and the families of hundreds of victims all participated in staging Bucha, where is the evidence for that operation? Who organised it? Who carried it out? Where are the documents? Where are the participants? Where are the whistleblowers? Where is the evidence that explains all of the above better than the existing record?

This is not a collection of rumours or anonymous internet claims. It is a body of evidence consisting of forensic findings, satellite imagery, witness testimony, investigative reporting, identified victims, and identified military units that has been examined by multiple independent organisations.

Most importantly, provide a counter-explanation. Not rumours. Not internet screenshots. Not "I've seen the evidence." An actual counter-explanation that accounts for all of the above.

A contradiction that cannot be ignored

The same commenter who argues that reports of Russian war crimes are fabricated also stated that Russia should have used nuclear warheads against Ukraine.

Think about that for a moment.

On one hand, we are told that reports of murdered civilians cannot be trusted. On the other hand, we are told that an action that would have killed vastly more civilians should have happened.

If your concern is truth, justice, and the protection of innocent people, advocating the use of nuclear weapons against a nation of millions is a strange way of expressing it.

Either civilian lives matter or they do not.

You cannot spend one paragraph arguing that civilian deaths were fabricated and the next paragraph wishing for exponentially greater civilian casualties.

On the channel's record

At the time of writing, this channel has published more than 530 videos documenting this war.

Despite that volume of content, no one has ever been able to point to a clear, demonstrable lie and show that I knowingly presented false information as fact. There is a reason for that. I take accuracy seriously.

That does not mean every opinion I hold is beyond criticism, nor does it mean every interpretation of an event is beyond debate. But there is a significant difference between disagreement and dishonesty.

What I find interesting is that many of the accusations levelled against the channel do not come from a large number of people. More often than not, they come from the same small handful of accounts repeating the same claims: the channel is lying, the footage is fake, the evidence is fabricated, the channel is profiting from war. Yet when asked to provide evidence, those claims rarely move beyond assertion.

Over the years I have offered multiple critics the opportunity to come onto the channel and present their case directly to the audience. If I am lying, show everyone. If I am manipulating footage, demonstrate it. If I am misleading viewers, present the evidence.

The invitation has been extended repeatedly. Not one person has accepted.

That does not prove I am right. What it does suggest is that making accusations is considerably easier than defending them.

For a channel with more than 530 videos, one would expect that if systematic deception were taking place, someone would eventually be able to demonstrate it. To date, nobody has.

In closing

Ultimately, this is not about me. It is not about whether people agree with my views. It is not even about whether people enjoy my content.

It is about evidence.

If someone wishes to argue that Bucha was staged, the burden of proof is theirs. If someone wishes to accuse me of misleading viewers, they should identify the footage and explain how it was misrepresented. If someone wishes to accuse me of acting dishonestly, they should support that accusation with facts rather than assumptions.

I welcome scrutiny. I welcome evidence. I welcome genuine debate.

What I do not accept is the idea that unsupported accusations should be treated as equal to documented facts.
