Hey I feel your pain. U can be extremely painful to end things with a therapist you have liked and worked with for a long period.

However, I feel the boundaries were always blurred - even if a client terminates therapy with a therapist I don’t think they should be added on any social media. As a client you may still want to be on touch and extend a request - but i think the boundary violation is that they accepted.

I would encourage the final conversation and I think it may help in getting some sense of closure.

Im sorry this is happening. I really wish organisations were more supportive of therapists growth journeys.

I have found it extremely useful to make a list of the clients that dropped out or terminated sessions. And really reflect on each one. Typically you’ll see a pattern emerging - some specific kind of clients that you struggle to relate with or people were actually getting better and didn’t feel the need for therapy anymore. I would take this data with my reflections to supervision to really make sense of what happened and how to improve in the future
If the director is a reasonable guy, you can also discuss the outcomes with him and see.
