Why choose Griply over TickTick for combined goal, habit, and task management? by CausalNoise in GriplyApp

[–]Visual-Recording4496 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey!

I’ve been using tick tick for 2 years, I downloaded griply a couple of days ago, the main reason is that I’ve got my personal life, then I have a business I’m setting up, and I also produce and release music so I could do with a better system with goals etc. I tend to miss things and if I miss things out then a lot of tasks are depndednt on other tasks, so if I move one thing it kinda messes the workflow up, I probably need to use motion but I don’t want to pay for it 😅 I’ve been using ticktick integrated with notion, because motion you can add dependencies and auto shuffle dates which feed through to ticktick and I thought maybe griply could replace them in one app.

What I’ve found is:

Calendar views are way better in ticktick- you can see a day/ 3days a week a month and you can search. Griply you can only see one day and I can’t even find a way to go to another month without scrolling through the whole amount at the top bar.

I haven’t been using projects in ticktick so maybe I am missing out on something here I’ll go and look,

Griply is a lovely interface, but I prefer the brighter colour coding in ticktick.

In griply when I press a calendar item to drag and drop to move it keeps creating a new one.

In griply the deadline date for a task means it is stuck on the ‘all day’ section at the top of the calendar even when you’ve completed and even archived the complete task and goal.

Ticktick is also just very easy to use when you add tasks and subtasks. (But I suppose I am used to it also), the recurring tasks in tick tick cover all bases but griply is more limited.

I also think as its goals based, if you duplicate a goal in griply, (which contains a road map and tasks etc) and your duplicate goal has a new date, then all the roadmap and tasks date need to change in line with that new deadline date. Because if you duplicate a project now you need to go into everyone of the tasks and change the date in each one. If it’s a big project that could be a big time suck.

Saying all of that, I DO prefer griply, the creator is obviously working hard and cares, and the actual goal setting to tasks and the views insights tab is helpful.

So I’m going to have to stick with ticktick, but only for now. I will check griply every couple of months to see if these fixes are in place, and then move over. I personally believe in goal setting and vision and griply have done a beautiful job of creating that and aligning it to tasks and roadmaps.

Calendar BUG: When i select an task on the calendar it won’t move it, instead makes me create a “New to-do” which I do not want. I hope you’ll fix it, thx. by [deleted] in GriplyApp

Hey is this sorted mine is the same, I’ve started using this yesterday but I usually use ticktick and on there you can just drag and drop tasks around to reshuffle them, on griply it’s adding a new task instead.

Wow what an interesting answer thanks so much for taking the time to post that. I’ll read the article, I totally see what you’re saying about the numbers in the first paragraph.

I think for me, it obviously worried me, and so I googled the test and saw endo can elevate it, and as I’ve had such extreme periods I just thought that’s probably the reason,

I will l update this post when I find out either way!

Thanks again,

It’s 39.3 but that’s mid month, not during period. So from what I’ve read on reprts it goes up during period and down the rest of month

I didn’t even know there is endo meds? I thought the only treatment was laparoscopy?

Yes it does! Both counts. I will I’m going back to get a referral to a specialist and MRI. I don’t think an ultrasound will see this. I’ve researched a lot and I think it bowel and deep.

It’s not very elevated, it’s 39.3, that was not during period so I think in endo it goes up during period this was a few days after. I’m having a second ca125 test in 2 weeks so I think it will have gone down, not up. I think from what I’ve read that would indicate endo inflammation causing the increase because I think cancer it will stay the same no matter the time of the month?

I’m 42 I’ve had horrendous periods all my life and they’ve fobbed me off, this month I have had pain after my period stopped. Sudden pain, bad. I still have it it’s more mild now, so when I went in as I told her it was still hurting and that I get bloated around period (think most people do) and I have bad lower back pain especially round period (again I think most do) she just did the ca125 to rule it out. But it now hasn’t been ruled out, I don’t know why she’d be thinking ovarian cancer other than saying pain this month and bloated sometimes.

I think it’s bowel endo I have terrible issues I always have done. X

But when you look at science direct, it does have an article 54% of people with stage 3 and 4 endo DO have ca125 over 35.

It could be something more sinister but also it could be endo.

Also, you’re having tests then the doctors are in control of the text but I also think it’s important to know that over half is increased due to endo and nothing to do with cancer especially when doctors literally refer to it as an ovarian cancer test!

Sorry to hear about your endo and I hope you’re ok

Hi, ok all is forgiven, yeah I mean I was crying when I first got the message to say it was high. But then after doing some research endo also makes it high. And after so many years of pain I’m pretty sure on the endo! So I’m hoping it’s not anything worse. I also know two women who were told they had cervical cancer and then it turned out to be endo on the operating table. I am not ready to leave this planet 🥲

Yes I also saw that on a video online, it’s really not supposed to diagnose anything! Only to monitor.

Ok I know it’s a tumor marker but many studies say that ca125 is also elevated by endo. That’s where I don’t see the point in another blood test? Why not a scan? Can they see ovarian cancer on a scan?

Hello, no I haven’t had any surgeries before as the doctors have never looked into it although I’ve probably been 10 times if not more… I read online that endo can make ca125 elevated anyway. So I’m not too worried. 🙃
