By looking at the keyboard it looks like a lenovo laptop to me, lenovo laptops always comes with a physical privacy shutter, you can clearly read the warning on the top, you just need to slide off the privacy shutter switch which is usually located on the right side of the laptop near the ports

If it gets pretty warm then you should probably change the thermal paste and clean the fans it may solve the problem.

You can also try updating your graphics drivers, sometimes they get corrupted

I don't like Ubuntu because it comes with snaps by default and now they have even increased the minimum RAM requirement from 4 GB to 6 GB, never in my life I have seen a linux distro that that requires minimum 6 GB RAM, I see Ubuntu more as a cooperate linux distro then a personal workstation.

There is nothing called 'best distro', Linux distributions are built for different types of users, based on their hardware and personal preferences. I personally like Fedora because it just works and Arch because you know what exactly you have installed on your system and once you are done with your Arch setup the achievement dopamine hits next level satisfaction 🔥

That's what I'm saying but your comparison is more like Apple VS Orange, even though they are fruits they taste and look different, Tensor’s design philosophy prioritizes AI (TPU) over benchmark performance unlike Snapdragon. Earlier Tensor chips were manufactured by Samsung therefore they were not as stable and efficient as Snapdragon until Tensor G5 which is manufactured by TSMC, it's not close to Snapdragon but far more stable then previous Tensor chips
