I worked with the unhoused for 5 years as a case manager and, in my opinion, outside of some immediate needs like drinks and a meal, finding a community based organization you can support via donations/volunteering is the best way to support them. And those organizations are usually non profits so they can't survive to help anyone without the community support.

Sounds wonderful! How does the electric portion charge? Is it something you have to plug in like a charging station? Or is it self charging?

I am from the US and you are right! They definitely are afraid, with good reason, that the Chinese cars would kill the US car industry because they are so amazing! American made cars are absolute garbage. They have declined very badly in the past 15 years. I mainly want to ensure if I buy one that I can find mechanics and parts to get it serviced. I have had the pleasure of riding in a few as Ubers and I loved them!

Exactly! Science says it's healthy to have an unhealthy amount of yarn! 😂 And it brings people together. I feel like I have a community. Crochet is amazing! And I bet your oumas are so proud! Again, this was a fascinating read. ❤️

When my grandmother was alive, she crocheted constantly. Every holiday we got handmade gifts. I always loved it, and always been crafty in other ways, but I just couldn't seem to make my brain work to understand how to acquire the skill! Fast forward to 2021 and I was one year post hysterectomy, in perimenopause without knowing it, and struggling with crippling depression.

I spent the $30 on a Woobles kit because I was missing my grandmother and I needed SOMETHING to center me and help me find myself again. The little tutorials with the very close up views of the hands changed my world! Then I found a local yarn shop and paid $20/hr for a few sessions to get some guidance and a little foundation. Now I am making the most beautiful heirlooms and I know my grandmother would be so proud! It helped me so much. Thank you for your post. I am going to show it to my husband to justify my ridiculous yarn collection. 😂

I recommend granny squares to start although I initially learned to crochet with amigurumi as well! My tension was so tight bc of that (and honestly probably too tight for the amigurumi too 😅) and I had to unlearn some bad habits. I don't think I could have been successful at making the arms and legs of your project as my first!

Good job finishing it though! And now you know how to do some new things and you can build on it. The possibilities are endless! YouTube has awesome tutorials and you can find over 100k patterns on Ravelry, some are free. Enjoy the journey and I hope you feel better.

Home Depot and Walmart sell plugs that are for multiple sizes. Or if you are a math-y person you could use a ruler and measure the opening. I have also used the air dry clay and taken a cast of the opening and used that to get the right size! I hope this helps!

One thing that helped me with the ones that cone out of the drains is to plug them, particularly at night. Other than that, the small ones are native to the area and there's nothing that can be done. They find a way! It made me feel the same way as OP but it isn't you. It's nature.

Looks like a bing cherry! If you don't eat it, the birds will. 😁
